Amazing facilities. Room was beautifullly decorated, and clean and hosts were lovely. The short and easy walk into the city made it a great base for the weekend. Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous location in easy walking distance to the city walls. The room was large and airy but very close to the men’s toilets from the public bar, and there was a surprising amount of traffic noise. The outside /beer garden was pleasant fur an evening drink. The bathroom was luxurious . The breakfast was generous and the host was enthusiastic and keen to be accomodating and helpful.

A fantastic place to stay for a weekend break to York. Agnes and Michel were very welcoming and made our stay so enjoyable. Breakfast was fantastic as well Really well located and only a 15 minute leisurely stroll to the city walls and town centre along a flat road. Ideally placed. A definite place to return to.

First and foremost, Michal and his wife (the owners/hosts) were the absolute epitome of hospitality. It is clear that their guests' comfort is their utmost priority. They are truly wonderful people. As for the bed-and-breakfast itself, it is excellent. My family of four (two adults, a 10 and 12-year-old) was very comfortable. The location is perfect walking distance from the main attractions and a bevy of restaurants. Finally, the breakfast. We stayed here at the end of a two-week, whirlwind tour of the UK, and this is by far the best breakfast we had on our tour--and the first good cup of coffee. I would stay here again just for the breakfast; I would stay here again just for the genuine good-will of the hosts; I will absolutely stay here if I ever visit York again.

Two night stay, very nice room comfiest bed we've slept in for ages. Michal was very attentive even though he was kept busy a lot of the time. Easy 10min walk to city centre & on site parking. Little bit of noise. Ate breakfast once, good value & nice ingredients, could have been a little warmer & would have preferred freshly grilled tomatoes rather than tinned ones. Would definitely stay again & recommend.

This place is amazing! The property is so beautifully managed and the hospitality is superb. We stayed here for two nights and felt like home - so welcome and important guests. Look no further if you want to stay in a quiet, historical, clean, well maintained and so characteristic inn. The breakfast was amassing every morning and always on-time. Great job!

If you are looking to explore York and need a base for a couple of nights then look no further than The Burton Stone Inn. A family business with wonderful hosts. Ample parking, clean and tidy room with decent shower. A very good hearty breakfast to prepare you for your 10 minute easy stroll into the city. We have two children 5 and 9 and they had no problem with the walk back having spent all day walking around the city including the city walls. Yes, the bar does close at 8, however there are so many fantastic pubs and restaurants in the cit, you are are spoilt for choice! If you really need that night cap before bed then call in to the Churchill Hotel (2mins walk from The Burton Stone) or there’s a choice of over 10 pubs or bars on your way home from Boothsms gate. We will definitely be returning. Thank you, see you soon.

Just a 2 night getaway stay in mid-week. Really friendly helpful hosts. Nice and comfortable and outstanding choices for breakfast. Veggie friendly. Easy short walk to City wall and Minster. Highly recommended

My stay here was lovely and it’s in the most perfect spot!

My husband & I stayed over Christmas. All the staff were very friendly and looked after us well. We highly recomend staying here & would come back when we are visiting York again. Breakfast was very tasty & the service was excellent. Bar prices were reasonable & the drink selection was good. The room was well laid out & comfortable. Plenty of parking with the availability to park prior to check in.

We were very pleased with our stay.The breakfast was lovely and freshly prepared.Room was comfortable and warm.Very convenient for York -a 10 minute stroll.Only gripe was we couldn’t have breakfast with our friends the first morning.Bathroom door sticks in Room 2 !

We loved every moment staying here.So convenient for walking into York centre which is less than 10 minutes. Breakfast was amazing and the hosts were delightful.Services was fantastic.Also George who is full of local knowledge and very helpful. We will definately be back a fabulous place to stay.

We had a great stay at the Burton Stone Inn. We were welcomed warmly and were shown to our room and given helpful information about the inn and the town. We were in a family style suite, with a double bed in one room, and bunk beds in the connecting room. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious enough for all of us, and had everything we needed, including a small refrigerator. Yorkshire tea and little chocolates were a nice bonus. We added on breakfast in the morning at the inn, and it was very fresh and delicious, all prepared to-order. The inn is in a nice area, just a short walk into the main part of town, and about a 15-minute walk from the train station. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone visiting York!

Friendly hotel in an excellent spot just 2 minute walk from the city walls. Room was nice and clean. Bed a little uncomfortable for my height is my only gripe. Other than that the staff are helpful friendly and knowledgable.

We had as wonderful stay as we did last year and in a better room. The service is great, Agnes is a very friendly and kindly hostess and very much looked after us and made us most welcome. Fab breakfasts! The best feature for us is the fantastic relaxing terrace area which we weren’t able to use as much as last year thanks to the awful rain. Highly recommend staying here and we will no doubt be back next year :)
