This is an very old (antique) kind of property where you will find moving luggages between floors and stairs is somewhat a challenging experience. The lift is the old type require manual door opening and accommodate only one person plus a bag. Some rooms were far reached through a long narrow hallway so they are not convenient for those who have large luggages hence we asked for a change to a more accessible room since we had two large luggages. No air conditioning but a floor fan was available (which was broken and had to be swapped with another one). Water pressure of the shower was horrible (basically dripping) and we had to skip taking a shower after hotel staff failed to fix it the first night.

Hi I found the star hotel to be very warm and welcome the staff where friendly and polite and the room and facilities where clean and as to be expected

looks like two (or more) separate buildings, so trying to align the lifts and stairways was a bit confusing. It's old and tired and could definitely use a thorough cleaning, but the service was pretty good. (It's possible that it is coming up against the end of the season, so hopefully, there will be some refreshing of the public areas and rooms during the off season) I noted that mom needed a room near the elevator, so they kindly upgraded her room to accommodate her. The next morning, the cruise ship boarding had been delayed, so the staff stored luggage for everyone as well as provided a lounge to wait. Decent walk to the Princess cruise ship terminal and a somewhat reasonable price made it an overall decent choice.

I had requested low floor but on second floor ,I couldn’t have shower this morning as it was not walk in and not able to step in bath.rooms very basic in old property. Guy did help with cases.very very noisy as facing street and never got much sleep till 5 the people all stopped carry ons

We appeared to be placed in the old part of the hotel with very tired decor and nothing like the website. Although the bedroom was adequate with a very small TV, it was quite noisy with guests in the hallway and stereo music outside before 7am. The bathroom was completely inadequate with skylight with no blind that the car park opposite can see straight into. Water pressure non existent in shower (hard to rinse shampoo out). Took a while for hot water to come through and have to repeatedly flush the toilet to get rid of waste Didn't have breakfast but it looked fresh and value for money. Only needed a room for a night, but it needs a lot of investment and modernization. Focus on rooms not keyless entry.

Very tierd rooms, heavyly stained carpet, tv in first room not working, shower head in second room (15) broken. overall smell in corridors and room. High street outside downmarket and lots of homeless. Good parking though and friendly staff

The property looked worn dirty carpets, rusty light in bathroom. Not worth £45 maybe £30

At night very noisy area

very disappointed, access to room is difficult. lift very old and not suitable. the most disappointing is breakfast: you have mentioned continental breakfast and IT IS NOT, no pasties only one toast given with butter, no Jam or honey. Bad experience.

The room was nicely decorated the bed was comfortable stayed overnight to see a concert

Ok for 1 night if you need a place to sleep. Nothing special about them.

Terrible customer service , dirty toilets ,difficult to find parking space. We were supposed to stay for three nights we checked out after staying for 2 nights .worst experience ever .they ruined our holiday

It was very mediocre the bed wasn’t comfy the breakfast was quite bad and the front seat equipment wasn’t working

Needs alot of repair work. Bathroom has a doormat instead of a bathmat. Sink taps too small. .tight to sink. Jnfortunately pur room was facing the High street and rowdy noise and swearing all night. Homeless sleeping in doorway opposite. Single glazed. Bed comfortable & clean. Fan in room good

Rooms and hotel not as shown in the picture, extremely dated and randonly yhr front hotel bar being used as a breakroom for bus drivers, staff not particularly friendly, bed not comfy and hard and mattress worn out or poor quality

historical hotel and in walking distance from cruise ship

We had two separate rooms at this property- one that was newer in terms of being refurbished and the other was older. The newer room was quite nice, the older room was ok. There is no AC but the rooms had a fan which was fine considering how cool the evenings were for us. The hotel is quite close to a number of bars and there were a substantial amount of very drunk people stumbling along the roads which didn’t make for the nicest evening walk but if you are into pubs you would be set. It’s close to a number of restaurants and overall was an acceptable stay. The staff at the front counter were top-notch.
