Traditional accommodation with fabulous, friendly people.. Lovely to actually stay somewhere that has people, instead of machines. Great location.

Great location, 15mins walk into york. Lots of restaurants, bars and eating places next to hotel, would definitely reccomend

This is a nice hotel. The staff is amazing here, very helpful, very friendly. The building itself is a bit outdated, the shower was something straight from the 60s, and all light fixtures were covered by dust and cobweb, but generally it's a well-kept and clean hotel. The pillows were super flat though!

Great location! Amazing hospitality! Fantastic breakfast! The staff at the Wheatlands Lodge Hotel is top notch. My brother caught the flu right before we left the States for England and developed a cough that could not be tamed during our trip. When we made it to York, Wheatlands was able to secure a second room for me during one of the busier times of the year (the annual Food & Drink Festival) so I could get some much needed rest after not sleeping for several days due to said cough. Housekeeping also took great care of our laundry as we packed somewhat light for a two week trip. Thanks Tim for everything! God Bless!

Exceptionally friendly staff. The room is good but faces the courtyard which has very bright lights. Good location.

Was a very short stay but really enjoyed it. It was unfortunate that my room was behind reception and next to dining room so more noise than I’d have preferred but it was a single room which I’m guessing are limited.
Very clean, bed comfortable, tea & coffee in room, nice breakfast and friendly service throughout. Would definitely stay again.

Due to work in the car park staff helped us to park just round the corner.

looked like a retirement home on arrival how wrong were we everyone very friendly staff and guests room clean and tidy bathroom could do with a spruce up but overall okay

As soon as we arrived were greeted by tim on desk very friendly nothing too much trouble, that good booked for november, short walk into centre lovely breakfast, room clean, on top floor no good if u have mobility problems, did not know it had 3 floors but that did not dampen our stay would definitely recommend

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful while the noise at night at around 12 am was bad, as some neighbour visitors spoke very loudly at night while I can hear them very clearly just like they were talking in the same room.

Well priced hotel near City Centre. Also handy for race course. Friendly staff. Dated decor, but very clean and well maintained. Recommend. Valentinos nearby does good Italian food.

We had a really warm arrival. The bedroom was spacious. The breakfast was lovely plenty of choice and table service. The hotel and a lovely big front garden with plenty of tables and chairs to sit out in the sun. The bar in the hotel was very reasonable. The local of the hotel was in walking distance of York.

Hotel nice and close to city centre and easy to find. Hotel parking limited and not so easy to find. Owner and staff helpful and friendly. Bar and restaurant excellent. Room was basic but okay for a short stay. Bathroom was well equipped. Would ask for a better room if staying longer.

I had an enjoyable stay at the Wheatlands Hotel. The staff were truely helpful and friendly the whole time. My single room was small but adaquate with a comfortable bed and a great shower. With a tiny car park parking can be an issue but the staff are used to helping with pointing out where off street parking can be found if needed. The restaurant is not always open for evening meals so dinning out is on the agenda and York seems to have a shortage of places with kitchens that are open after 8pm so a point to bear in mind. Yes I would stay again if I am that way again as it was I thought value for money.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and a short walk to the old town. My only complaint is the mattress on my bed was too hard.

Hotel had a relaxed atmosphere & ’ staff were very welcoming- car park a bit tight, we got our car parked up for the 2 nights, but would have been disappointed if we’d had to look for a space on the street.

I visited York to attend a Conference and it was great to be able to stay at a quiet hotel, avail of their parking facilities and walk to and from the Conference near the train station. The service at the hotel was superb - very friendly, efficient and helpful.
