This was a great property to accommodate our larger-than-normal group! The location is close to the Piers for charter pick-up (whale sharks) and restaurants easily within walking distance. We did not need to rent a golf cart at all to stay in the action.
The pool was awesome and shared spaces made it easy to gather and hang out - all 16 of us! Definitely would stay again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My family (14 people) had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. The house was clean and comfortable and a short walk to all the attractions of North Beach (beaches, restaurants, etc). We also enjoyed the ocean views from the porch and from the pool. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay in Isla. We rented the entire property and it was a good space for our family, there was ample room for everyone to spread out. We were able to easily walk to most things we wanted to do with easy access to the grocery store, beach and restaurants. There was good communication between the owners and property manager. We did have difficulty with closing & locking the patio doors on the 1st & 2nd floor. The water pressure in the kitchen on the 1st floor & the guest bathroom was poor. The views were great!

We rented the downstairs and upstairs. Perfect size for my family of 4, my brothers family of 3 and our mother. Great that they provide beach towels. Walking distance to grocery store, bars and restaurants. Kitchen had all necessary things to cook with. Owners are super friendly.

Amazing place!!
We loved and appreciated everything about this rental. The 2 suites and 2 bed/baths were perfect for the 4 couples staying there. The pool was great, we loved that it got sun and shade. Tom and his wife stay in the 3rd level (which isn’t noted anywhere that I saw) but it was great. Tom gave us a great tour when we arrived and was there to answer any questions we had.

Location, location, location
Every year since 2007 my family has rented through VRBO for our annual vacation. This house has a great location-within a short walk to everything on the north side of the very cool island. (We did rent golf carts to get to the south end which had some spectacular views-and stopped at "The Joint" multiple times on the way) We felt very safe at this house. However, it is not quite as bright as the pictures show and is showing its age a bit-probably due to the salt air. Beds are very comfy. If we could have left the front door open to take advantage of the ocean breeze, it would have been nicer, but the smell from the garbage cans by the door prevented that. My daughter ripped her pants when she sat on the upstairs futon because staples were sticking up where the buttons had fallen off (Tom fixed the futon immediately). And the roach/palmetto bug invasion in the main floor bedroom on our last night had 2 people sleeping in the living room with the lights on. Despite those two issues we had a great time here. While at the house, we spent most of our time on the main deck facing the ocean because the breeze and view were fantastic. The kitchen is well stocked but we didn't cook much simply because the food on the island was inexpensive and excellent! There was plenty of room for our group of nine adults and we would have no problem staying here again.

Outstanding stay - recommend!
Owner was helpful, accommodating and generous. They accommodated adjusted check-in/out times, and were generally helpful. It was tricky to find the property, but only bc we didn’t access the Facebook arrival video while traveling (check that out first - map doesn’t really work). The house is extremely well-equipped, and unlike a lot of places that throw out extra food, etc, this place had rice, laundry detergent, etc. We had an outstanding experience and will return for sure. Huge thank you to the hosts for providing a most memorable piece of our vacation for my family of 6.

The location of this property can't be beat, however, the street out the front is slightly busy with a narrow sidewalk. The view is incredible and going out the front of the house you are directly on the Malecon. Dawn and Tom are lovely and were very easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay!

This is an amazing property near the center of town. It was perfect for our larger group (6 adults and 3 children). Plenty of space for everyone and the common areas are perfect. We would certainly recommend Dawn and Tom’s property to anyone looking for a family or group vacation!

Perfect Location for Sargassum-Free North Beach!
Playa Norte does not have the algae (sargassum) problem that Cancun and Playa del Carmen have. This villa is a 10 min walk from the ferry and 10 min walk to one of the best beaches in the world. It is also walking distance to downtown where 90% of the nightlife/restaurants/shopping is located.
We rented the full villa that includes 4 bed rooms and 4 baths, one full kitchen and 2 kitchenettes. All the rooms were large and with comfortable beds. The pool is great and has a 12 inch shelf that my toddler loved to play in. The place is very well equipped with kitchen supplies, towels, and even a washer/dryer. The hosts were very helpful and were always quick to respond. I'll def come back to visit.

Best of Everything!
This was our third trip to Isla and I believe we have found our “go to” place to stay. A short walk from the ferry, cart rental on the way and you are at a great home on the Malecon. The Centro restaurants and North Beach are an easy walk, head south on your cart to your other favorites. Being July, our family made great use of the splash pool and stretched out to relax and listen to the waves crashing. The house is wonderful and is as advertised. Plenty of room to rumble around in for the six of us. The owners, Dawn and Tom, were so great to work with from reservation time to our sad goodbyes today. You will be pleased if this is your choice in Isla for a group.
P.S. La Lomita a few doors down has incredible food and was our go to for afternoon hors d’oeuvres....ceviche, guacamole, skewers, etc....

Fantastic Property!
We had a great time in our stay at Castillito del Caribe! It is a perfect location, with the Caribbean views off of the pool deck but is still walking distance to many good restaurants and bars. The house itself is gorgeous and includes everything one would need for a perfect vacation. Having the malecon right outside of the back gate made for easy access to walking and running when we wanted exercise. I can't wait to stay here again on our next trip to Isla.

This is the best apartment to rent. We researched many places on Isla including all inclusive but were so happy we booked this one. The view is superb. There are 4 cute little dogs next door that love when you feed them! The only thing that we might comment on is the furniture has been around a while and since it is fabric has a slight smell to it but we just covered it with a sheet and we were fine. But overall we are going to be missing this place!

Excellent Location; Reasonable Budget House
We visit Isla Mujeres often, but did a last-minute trip so this was our first time staying in this house. The location is amazing - right on the Malecon and a close walk to town and North Beach. The views are pretty.
Specific pros and cons of the house:
Pros: In addition to amazing location, the house provides beach towels and water, has comfortable beds, has screens on all the doors allowing for opening without bugs (unusual on Isla), was clean, had well-working AC and a cute dipping pool. Furniture is more comfortable than a lot of places.
Cons- it's important to remember that the house is advertised and priced as a budget rental, and I think generally performs well in that category. There are a few things that we think could be improved- the sheets and towels all have weird brown stains (we took them to the laundromat before using because they seemed icky but they remained), there is almost no outside furniture so the decks are useless, the Wi-Fi was basically inoperative, the lighting is really poor, and there is no maid service (nor any info about what to do with trash/when to put it out). Most importantly, the house is oddly configured such that to access the third bedroom, you have to walk through the front door, out the back door, up a set of stairs (outside), and in another door. The end result (in addition to inconvenience) is that at night, when all the various doors are locked, the upstairs is completely separate from the rest of the house -- you can't see, hear or access the rest of the house. If our kids were younger, this would have been a tremendous deal. Further, I asked several very specific and pointed questions about the house configuration and got less than truthful answers from the rental agency, so I would not go through that agency again. For adult groups, I think the house would work well.

I loved this place. Close to everything and only a few minutes walk from the ferry. It was my first time to isla Mujeres and I loved every moment. The hosts were super friendly and shared all the best places to eat. Can't wait to go back.

Great property with a great location!
My mom and I stayed at this property in February 2016 and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The casa is very well furnished with comfortable beds and lots of bottled water provided. The dipping pool gets the morning sun so if you are wanting an afternoon in a warm pool this isn't for you, but on a hot day the cool water was very refreshing. I do wish there was a handrail for stepping down into the pool, although it is not a big step my mom is 73 and the tile was wet so I worried about her slipping. I loved how the sliding doors opened completely to the patio. The 3 levels of patios provided great views. Lalo was a real asset to the property. Our flight was an hour late and he was there waiting for us. He got some groceries for us while we unpacked and he was there to answer our may questions. Lorena also provided excellent service with quick answers to our questions. The location is great, so close to Centro you can walk if you want to, we had a cart and had no problem parking it. The water pressure in the shower was great, and it was always hot. The a/c was cold, but really we only needed it for sleeping as the ocean front location provided a wonderful breeze all day. The kitchen was well supplied and we had plenty of towels...very good quality towels and we actually wanted to purchase two of them when we couldn't find them at the Chedraui! This is the kind of place you don't want other people to know about because you want it available for yourself! We utilized Isla Delivers our first night and they found the casa no problems using the directions Lorena gave us. The patio overlooks the Malecon and has stairs (with a secured access door) leading to it should you want to enjoy a stroll. There is a gas grill on the patio but we did not use it. I enjoy sleeping in on vacation but the ocean front view made for such a beautiful sunrise I was up early every morning to enjoy that view. I can't wait to return to this wonderful casa.
