Beautiful really stylish the room was large with huge tv in the lounge part of the room with lots of channels no extra charge with a comfy couch and a big comfy bed for my pooch who was treat like the vip she is! Breakfast prepared for her by the chef and the breakfast for myself was so delicious best ever really the produce is locally sourced and really good quality ingredients. They do cheese and meat boards that are also delicious and don’t cost the earth. Looking forward to going back when they have established themselves more and offer dinner which they did mention is the plan. Nothing was too much for them I had a lovely stay and extended it a night as I loved it that much. It’s spotless too I can’t forget that, bathroom lovely with nice products to try out which they do sell also. Thanks everyone me and daisy loved our stay

Another fantastic stay at the New Holgate. Small, but perfectly equipped room. Great nights sleep.

Absolutely stunning property with beautiful, spacious room. Facilities were perfect. Everything about the layout of the room had been well thought through. Staff were wonderful and attentive.

We didn't take part in the breakfast I am sorry about that. The location was fine.

In shower stall no shelf for toiletries etc. We found the basin a little on the small side.

Was a bit dated, and a bit further out that I expected

it was close enough to walk

we were a group of 3 young girls on our 1st girls weekend away so we were nervous to begin with but after waking up after our first night someone opened the door with a key and walked in on us and seen far more than should have been seen by anyone else!! after that we didn’t want to leave so we only went for food and straight back so to say the unprofessional staff saying oh sorry I didn’t know anyone was in this room is an absolute joke! even changed our train home to leave early the next morning as no one could pick us up that night

Friendly, family-orientated establishment, warm welcome, made us feel relaxed and were happy to help with any questions we had, staff were helpful, flowers and prosecco and a card on arrival for my g/f as her birthday and all the staff knew so lots of happy returns which was lovely, beautiful room, clean and tidy, bed was so comfy, it was warm and cosy, just perfect for us, little walk into city centre which is a lovely way to see the sights of beautiful York, loved every minute of our trip away,

Breakfast could've been hotter on the 1st day, and the urn didn't seem to be getting up to high enough temp, but there was no drama getting the kettle on for piping hot tea and following day brekkie served on hot plates so much better, didn't spoil the weekend for me and as it was quite delicious made little difference to trip away, good to see lots of local produce on the menu, love the place and highly recommend a stay here,
