I loved everything about Barcelo resort. Upon arrival they served you with complimentary drinks. After checking in they send you have lunch. The food was amazingly good and they cater for everyone whether you’re diabetic or you have high blood pressure etc don’t worry they have food for all kinds. Don’t even mentioned about the staffs that works there, they are magnificent. I’ve haven’t had any bad experiences with not even 1 of them for the one week that I was there. Oh my goodness when I went to my room I felt like I was home away from home the place was spotlessly clean and super fresh. And it looks just as displayed on their website. The place is highly maintained I must admit. The beach is also very clean because the maintenance guys cleans the shore every morning. Let’s go over to the pools that I didn't wanted to get out of. With all being said I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND FAMILY AND FRIENDS to stay at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort in Punta Cana. I will definitely visit there again. Thank you for you amazing hospitality I enjoyed my stay.

The resort was beautiful however, check in process was a mess!! No signs to let you know which line is check in and what line is check out!! When you get to the front of the line you have to go back onto the “correct” line. 45 minutes wasted! You have to have cash or the staff will not be helpful, they really only respond to tips!!! Restaurant availability is a joke. You cannot make a reservation without having a room number, by the time you get your room number every thing is booked. But if you purchase a premium room you magically get reservations. This being an all inclusive resort you should be able to access everything whether you’re a “premium” guest or not. Pool closes at 7… the towel return is at 6?!?! It’s still daylight out… too early to close pool. Not interested in returning. Been to many all inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic, sadly 1st time in Punta Cana and most likely my last.

This resort is one of my favorite resorts ,the staff there are very friendly and helpful. The themed restaurants are very good. And there are plenty of things to do.

I have gone to this resort multiple times in the past years and this was my favorite hotel in the world, they used to have good service, quality food, exceptional rooms; but now, all they have is the worst you can expect on any resort and much higher price. Just to mention one of the things that happened to us there, we went for dinner at the Miramar buffet and walk king in some lady told us to sit in a huge table they have for big families because there was no clean table, walking to the table some other lady with some bad attitude told us not to sit there because that table she was saving it for somebody else 💀. Then she told us to go get our food that she was going to clean this other XX table for us to be ready when we were back, we got our food we went to the table and it was still dirty, we put the dirty stuff to one side and sat down, then we needed some forks and soda and my cousin Went to ask another lady, this lady was beyond disrespectful, like not somebody you would think you’ll find in a resort, she started yelling and telling us that they were only two people attending 18 tables (which we understand it’s not their fault) but neither ours…that ended with us dinning on the sport bar.

Liked - 1) easy access to the beach, 2) helpful premium level desk staff and cleaning staff 3) resort facilities Didn't like - 1) food was below average, 2) as someone who speaks only English I found there was a lot of language barrier with staff since most of them don't speak or understand English.

I was there before 6 years ago and I think that they need to remodel the place, 6 yeahs was nice , now looks like it needs to put some love into the facility

We enjoyed our stay.

We were trapped in the elevator for more than 30 minutes. It stopped and the alarm buttons did not respond. They were disconnected. I suffer from claustrophobia and I was just as lucky that other people passed by and heard me calling and did us the favor of calling so they could get us out of there. The elevator was broken, so the entire stay we had to go up the stairs and I had a sprained left ankle, a very unfavorable experience.

This property was as secured and quiet as I ever have seen. If you love fresh fruit, desserts, and variety of meats, this place has it. The bathroom experience is one that you will have t adjust, but once you learn the shower mode, you will be ok. The jet massage in their pools is excellent for those who need a back massage. "I shall return" is my motto.

The rooms were old and the shower was moldy in some areas but it was still clean I would say overall. The beach and pool areas were great. The drinks were strong enough for me and service was fast. Plenty to do without leaving the resort if you like to just relax and hang around. The buffet could be better though.

Horrible resort. The food is very distasteful, the room were stinky. I do not recommend this resort.

Property is beautiful but food is terrible also the room were very dirty, and some of the stuff was rude and unprofessional except for Smiling she was great she works at the main buffett everybody else needs to learn how to treat people like she does! Rate 10 for Smiling !

Lovely place to stay, nice staff and clean buildings

The lack of attention to customers is unbelievable. 2 days with a room infestation of mosquitoes and a 3dr day with a dripping shower head. I requested to speak to thr property manager who never contacted me my two little ones where devoured by the mosquitoes that came to two rooms they gave us because they shared a broken AC duct! 1st room 8336, 2nd room 8325 and the dripping shower at 8723.

Staff was rude in check in and kept delaying my checkin. Checkin time was 3pm. I arrived at 2:30 and was informed that I was able to check in early. Didnt checkin until after 430 and walked into a room that didnt have working electricity. I was then moved to a room farther that worked in my favor but was not compensated for the manners of their staff until I issued a complaint. Once done I was compensated with a comped ride back to the airport.

The property overall was beautiful and for the most part clean. Check in was a little slow we waited about an hour in line to be checked in, however I was grateful that our room was ready before 3pm. Majority of the staff did not speak nor understood English. This was very bothersome because it was hard for my family and I to communicate with staff. I was very upset that guests were allowed to smoke everywhere on the property. There should have been a designated area for smokers to smoke. I traveled with my sister whom is pregnant and it was not pleasant for her to inhale smoke the entire time on our trip. Service at the buffet was horrible. We spent 6 days on our first day eating at the buffet we were greeted and serviced with water and a drink of our choice by the staff. The remainder of our trip we had to constantly call for a staff member to provide us with water and drinks. Let’s not mentioned the fact that for the 6 days we spend at this hotel we got turned away from one of the buffet claiming that it is full. It did not matter what time of the day we attempted to eat there we were always turned away. It seems like staff were mostly catering to Hispanic guests. The best service/food we had was at the restaurants. I was disappointed at the fact that I had requested a complementary cake at La Brisa which was confirmed by two staff members in guest service, however when we got to the restaurant a cake was not provided. We were told the reservation was not made.

Not as i expect it

I believe the stuff could have been more friendly. They need to have good customer service skills. More attentive. I didn’t like the jacuzzi was not cleanned when we arrived and I had to called twice to have it clean. Also the suite had cockroaches . For been our first time there our experience was not exceptional. But overall we had a good time at the beach
