Room was very comfortable as was the bed. Everything was clean. Even though it was above a pub, it was remarkably quiet. The food at the pub was very good and the full breakfast, made to order, was wonderful!!

We had a lovely time at the rose and crown,the staff were excellent and really couldnt do enough

Very nice room and very friendly staff with very good service. The only thing was our room was over looking the street so it was a little noisy. Overall, very good.

Second stay here, so it must be good 😊. We ate lunch on our arrival, which was delicious. Breakfast was just as good. The only slight problem was the noisy boiler/generator that switched on and off randomly during the night and interrupted our sleep.

The room decor was very old classic look and it was charming. The bed was a little squeaky which was charming. Breakfast was excellent and the waitstaff greT. Free parking in the same compound.

Excellent pub/hotel. Firendly staff, clean rooms, excellent and resonably-priced food available downstairs, and a lovely atmosphere in the pub. Good breakfast too. Convenient location. You get a little bit of noice coming up from the pub but not much at all and actually I was pleasantly surprised to find how quiet it was given it was above a pub. Will defintely will be looking to see if this place is available for my next trip.

Absolutely fantastic service from staff especially Christopher, food first class, only downside is the traffic as on very busy road but would definitely stay there again.

Warm and friendly welcome. Lovely room with everything we needed. Fantastic breakfast (full English). We also had our evening meal at the pub and that was delicious and very filling. They allowed us to leave our car on the car park for the day so we could explore York. The staff even gave us some suggestions of places to visit. A lovely overnight stay. Defo recommend and it was within easy distance of town centre.

We really enjoyed our 1 night stay and would definitely stay here again. The staff are friendly and the food was excellent. It’s a ten minute walk into the city centre. There is some road noise, but it didn’t spoil our stay.

Really enjoyed our stay, close to the old town, didnt need to use the car at all. A bit of a wait for our meals, but it was worth waiting for. Would definately stay there again.

We liked everything about The Rose and Crown. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a good size with a lovely ensuite bathroom, and it was very clean. We also liked the free parking. Breakfast was also good.

very nice staff, excellent pub with top notch food and beer. Just outside city walls near Walmgate so great location to explore city. and free parking which is great for York as it would normally cost a fortune. the room we had was above the bar and overlooking the main road, but no bother with noise, slept very well.

Felt that the property needed a good overhall .

Superb food Had an evening meal and the included breakfast both were excellent quality ( loved the chips ) . The room was a bit on the small side but we were only their 1 night . The staff were friendly and polite , parking was included and it felt a safe place to leave the car . Overall I would fully recommend .
