We enjoyed our stay at the Vikings Accommodation very much. The hotel and rooms are nice; they are clean and very sufficient. The location is fantastic – a quick walk to the city center. But what sets this place apart from the others are the owners. They go out of their way to meet every need, and they are very pleasant and friendly. You will be amazed by their outstanding attention to detail. We recommend Vikings Accommodation highly.

We have just come back from a 2 night stay here and we thoroughly enjoyed it, the owner was fantastic when we arrived he took time out to give us a virtual tour of York showed us all the best places to go etc. the property was clean and comfortable we loved the room we stayed in. Slept really well. We will definitely recommend and have already booked a return stay. Thankyou again to the team at Vikings accomodations.

The accommodation was very good - although we found the stairs steep but the owner helped with the cases. The owner was also VERY helpful with local knowledge.

I loved staying here i absolutely loved & adored our room, the style of this property was amazing i love the viking decor ❤️ the gentleman who assisted us was amazing such a gentleman helped us with our bags really bubbly & kind he gave us a little tour on the map which was really nice it gave us both a rough idea as it was our first time in york really loved it thank you for making our experience wonderful will definitely be back x

Host was very friendly and professional, accommodation is clean with everything you need. Roadside parking just around the corner, we parked up and left the car there as the city is within walking distance. Our room was on the roadside but still very quiet even with the window open, we slept very well both nights. Highly recommended and we will return.

It was great to have a kitchen to prepare food so we could eat in when we wanted. Host really helpful with ideas for exploring York.

Friendly owner who was very knowledgeable of the area! Very clean and comfortable room, no problems at all.

More minus’s than plus’s! Our room was small and hot. No fan or air conditioning. The blind was wonky and tangled across a condensation drenched window. The bathroom smelt of blocked pipe work, probably the drainage for the shower needed cleaning. Wasn’t really possible to use it and because of the odour we kept the door closed. The remote control for the TV was broken. The sound buttons didn’t work. I contacted the staff number, but was not offered a solution, or an apology. The room was noisy, both outside and inside, with very poor soundproofing. On the plus the room was central, very clean and the coffee/tea facilities good. Very expensive for such poor quality in comparison to all other hotels we’ve visited in the last year. Would not return.

We liked how quiet the area is but is still close to both York city center but close to the train as well. Everything you would want to do is within 30 minutes of walking, which is excellent.

Fantastic property, very walkable to the city centre

Jamal and his colleagues were very amicable, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms are pretty small but very comfortable and exactly what I was looking for. Great value, I would definitely stay again.

Stayed 4 nights here. Hotel is on a quiet street, about a 20 minute walk from the train station and a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre. Had a single room and it was a good size, with tea and coffee and more downstairs if needed. There is also a kitchen if you wish to cook your own meals. Owners were lovely. Definitely would stay again if I'm ever in York.

Amazing trip to York for the weekend! The accommodation is ideally placed just a 10 minute walk from the centre of York. The host was amazing and gave lots of information on getting about, attractions to see, and was welcoming and friendly. If we ever visit York again, we will definitely be staying here!

Me and my boyfriend came to York and the location was perfect. About a ten minute walk from the city walls to walk around or to the centre. The stay was very price friendly however we had to cut our stay one day short and it was last minute due to unfortunate circumstances and we still had to pay full price. We thought because or this unforeseen issue we would of been able to not pay for the extra day as we didn’t sleep on the 1st January however it is in T&C , so I suppose understandable. Apart from that the customer service was on point and is perfect for a little base for exploring York. It is cozy in room 5 and perfect for a little base.

The host went the extra mile to ensure we had a good stay, he gave us lots of tips about places to visit in the area and we had access to a large shared kitchen which made our stay much more comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Really lovely place! The photos on the website don't do it justice our room was lovely. Only about a 10 min walk from the centre. If you're driving here you can park nearby if you ask at reception (we ended up paying for a car park because we didn't realise!)

We received a warm welcome, staff were really attentive (friendly, offered help with bags, recommended attractions to us etc) Room was clean and comfortable. We hadn’t realised there were kitchen facilities that we could use, this was a nice extra, and the seating area on the ground floor was lovely and cosy

We were in York for a few days for our daughters University Graduation and wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the city. Vikjng accommodation is ideally located, a 10 to 15 minute work from the Minster. On arrival we were greeted by the host who also arranged for a parking permit forntge duration of our stay. There is free on street parking nearby but i would recommend paying the £5 per day charge for the permit to be able to park outside the property and with the city being a short walk theres no need to pay the high city centre parkjng charges. We booked 2 rooms, both of which were spotless and very comfortable, tea and coffee making facilities were great with a nespresso type machine in each room. Our rooms were en suite and again the bathrooms were spotless. Theres also a kitchen available for guest use (we didnt make use of it) and additional tea, coffee and biscuits to grab if you run out. We were really pleased with Vikings accommodation, the hosts have taken great care to ensure that guests are well looked after in comfortable surroundings. Price was fantastic with the rooms being around £60 per night. Why pay extortionate hotel chain prices when you can have a much better experience staying at Vikings. We'll definitely be going back.

Comfortable room and amazing host

Very nice host. I only stayed at this hotel for one night. The sink was clogged which I wasn't so crazy about. Also, I think this hotel is a little bit far from the sites. But if you're looking to save money, it might be worth it for you. For me, I wouldn't recommend.

Moss the manager is an absolute charm. You could not wish to meet or be helped by a better i dividual. The room was very good but he turned the experience onto an absolute pleasure. Wasted here he needs to be running the ritz! Recommend this hotel to anyone as long as Moss is there

Very friendly place, quite area and easy to get to places.

What a gem. We loved this property. Just a short walk from the city wall, cafes and restaurants. Easy walk to the Shambles and York Minster. The area is quiet and makes for a good night’s sleep. Our room was small but very comfortable and well appointed. Bed was good and plenty of hot water. Downstairs there is a lounge and dining area along with a well appointed kitchen which is a real bonus when you are travelling for a long time. Our host was so helpful, not only with our luggage but also with loads of information on York. Great value property and we would certainly recommend.
