Not enough seating for size of property

Location was fab , great size tv , single beds and sofa were very comfortable, host was very good and getting back to me

There was no curtains or blinds up at the window In Dining room , it was a big window facing the street so we didn’t use that room , the gardens had rubbish over flowing in a box and to be honest the back garden was not very nice there was rubbish all behind the shed it really needs a tidy up ,

Location

The property is shabby and needs a lot of improvement, caters for six people, only five dining chairs, no proper dining table,it's a pool table with boards laid on top. Only five cups, three forks? The dining room was devoid of curtains at all, anyone walking past had a Birdseye view. Microwave filthy and smelled of fish. The garden is overgrown with ten bags of weeds from a meagre attempt at tidying it. There are no mattress protectors on the beds and the thinnest of under sheets. Very little storage. I am led to believe it has just been taken over, it could be a decent place if the new owners put in money and work, need to decide if it's for families or contractors, talking to neighbours they had some horror stories. The advert said ample drive parking for three cars, no way more than two, you can park one at the side of the house if you're okay climbing out of the boot as the doors won't open! Not enough seating for six in the lounge area so had to move dining room chairs in. I really didn't recognise the place from the reviews not accurate at all, come on new owners sort this place out!!

Double bed could be higher - it was a bit like a futon. No en suite in double bedroom.

No breakfast? There was nothing we liked about this property

We didn’t like that there was no hot water couldn’t shower, & two of us have stoma’s so hot water is essential to our needs. No mattress or pillow protectors. Paper thin sheets where you could see the stripes on the mattress. Two beds looked like they hadn’t been changed. Very small single beds. No toilet rolls, no hand soap, in the bathrooms. Not any tea, coffee sachets, no washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets. All the doors banister were very grubby with dirty hand marks. The kitchen was grubby, the rubbish bin was disgusting & the glass on the cooker hood was greasy. The plywood top on the pool table was dangerous as if you lent on it it flipped up so would not risk eating off it. Not enough seating in the lounge for five people. The garden was like a jungle no seating and a shed that looked like it would collapse! There was no way you could enjoy the sunshine in that garden. It was more than a twenty minute walk into the centre of York and longer than six minutes by car. I would not recommend staying at this house especially with young children. The boiler was at floor level and not boxed in or in a cupboard, a hazard. I’m at a loss as how this property can be a holiday let. Five very dissatisfied disappointed ladies hoping to celebrate a friends 70th birthday. Shocking!

the location is quite good. either a quick taxi or a pleasant 20 minutes walk from the city centre
