The pools are beautiful and such a refreshing break from the Singapore heat! Also loved the beds, some of the best hotels beds I’ve ever slept in! A very cute touch was some little F1 themed chocolates waiting for us in the room at check in.
Location is a bit annoying, a 10-15 minute walk to nearest train station which can be a lot in the heat. A bus stop is closer and the free shuttle is handy too.

Good location, ok price, they have a nice pool and well-equipped gym, both of which I didn’t have time to use but they’re nice. The staff are good too. Food on the second floor is good and relatively cheap. Drinking water tap in the room.
Room was dirty, with hair and spots, overall showed a lack of upkeep and attention… not even to detail but on a macro scale. Plus the bathroom really lacks a surface to put stuff onto, very awkward to use.

Rooms are compact, clean and comfortable for a short stay. Not much decoration.
The room wasn’t available until 15.10. Not very friendly at reception.
3.8
The staff was very helpful.
Great variety of breakfast.
Clean room.
Upon arrival, there were only bath towels in the room. The next day all towels were provided.
3.8
Excellent facilities - access to two nice swimming pools.
Off-hand staff
Barman broke off in the middle of serving me to go and serve another customer with about six drinks for his group. I was not impressed.
Our room was not cleaned for several days.
Frequently disturbed at night by noisy guests - different people each time.
Lack of local information or visitors pack in the room.
3.8
I thought the front office was too busy and had little time, I stayed for 8 days and requested for 2 hrs of extension on last day, only 1 hr given.
Not accommodating the request of extra hr on last day after staying for 8 days

I think the hotel is nice.
It is what would you expect for the price. It is also comfy and clean.
There is no underpass to Stevens MRT station.

Breakfast, wifi, air conditioning and room service
Rooms not checked, went to room no light, gave me another room again no light, called electrician, lost 45 mins, hotel should compensate for time and harassment. No house phones on the 9th floor, have to come done for everything.Front desk staff needs additional training takes 20 min to check in normally should 5 mins.
Call on the hotel no.,nobody picks up ...a star hotel cannot do this, all because staff not trained properly

Everything
Nothing all was good
3.8
The hotel is joint with Novotel Orchard and there are many amenities / benches
Gym was fantastic too ! one of the biggest i see at this price range
the shower was pretty basic for a 4 star hotel like this but this is i'm being really picky here
3.8
Good location near Orchard Rd.
Room stank like cigarettes and god knows what else. Staff at front counter didn’t even know the difference between debit card and eftpos card, also, 4 front desk staff and nobody acknowledges you, just stand there looking at you.
3.8
The room view is nice and comfy, Staff are friendly.
Reservation at 3pm check-in, in the end, waited til 5pm then able to check-in a day-use room, Reception kept asking is the day-use room ok, can we continue to stay the night in the room? Housekeeper has a very bad attitude, once press the bell 3times, use master room card to go into the room(which we didn't ask for any service).
3.8
Good food selections .more variety will be better.
Occasionally there's some smell appeared in lobby

The room size was small, but reasonable by Singapore standards. The staff were generally pleasant.
Check-in was slow and my room wasn't ready despite me arriving in the early evening. The hotel is located in a very upmarket area of Singapore some distance from the main attractions and all of the surrounding eateries are very expensive. The breakfast offered by the hotel is also expensive. There is more affordable food a 15 minute walk away. UPDATED 27/12/23: On arrival at the hotel I was told I needed to pay an upfront fee to cover any bill I ran up during my stay, which would be refunded after departure. What in fact happened is that I was charged SG$300 plus the whole of the cost of my room for my 7 day stay as a pre-authorisation on my credit card. I was then charged again for the whole 7 day stay on departure. This has affectively frozen my credit card until the pre-authorisation is cleared, which they have now advised (9 days after check-out) will take about 14-21 working days, and may take longer during festive period. I'm now contacting Singapore Consumer Affairs. I've spoken to my bank & passed on their very clear instructions about how to clear the hold. My bank advises it will only take 2 business days to clear once Mercure provides them with the faxed advice. I would have preferred to simply pay for my accommodation on arrival as I do at other hotels, instead of this double dipping. Pre-authorisation penalises the vast majority of honest travellers, in order to deal with the few that don't pay their bills. I regularly travel internationally and this experience ensures that I will never stay in any Accor hotel, including Mercure, Novotel & Ibis again.

their receptionist is nice

Very good lah, they know how to do business!
The pub/cafe in lobby is not operating.
3.8
The housekeeping was spot on. The only complaint about the room was the refrigerator, despite being clean, there's a strong smell of durian, anything put into the fridge, came out with that rotten smell. The Bar staffs(L'aperitif) are friendly, good service.
The front desk, on the other hand, was a disaster. Only one or two of them knows what they're doing. The majority of the team is clueless and helpless. Not friendly and has no communication skills at all. Wouldn't expect this from a 4-star hotel.
3.8
Very clean, the pools were perfect
There was a language issue at the front desk, some staff were more helpful than others. We needed to weigh our hand luggage twice during our stay - general weighing scales were happily provided the first time round but were denied at the second request - as they were for human weight only- we were only trying to check our hand luggage against the 7kg allowance!!
A 20 min walk to the MRT became a pain after a while!

The rooms were clean. You can walk to Orchard Road and Botanical Gardens but dress appropriately (I.e proper exercise clothing and trainers/ sand shoes) Pool area was clean - but no bar or food options. There is a shuttle bus to Orchard but is usually very crowded, easier to catch a cab
Misleading in the room description. The room size was smaller than advertised, there are no balconies with pool view (or balconies at all) The bar is extremely expensive (however there is a GRUB next door which is more reasonable for food and drink) You are a captive audience as there are very limited options around the hotel. You can walk to Orchard but it is quite a distance in the heat or catch a cab. We didn’t opt for breakfast option (we did try one morning but as the hotel is a transit for organised bus tours it was chaos) Instead we opted for breakfast at Prive Botanical Gardens and Orchard Road. Eggslut (yes that is the name : )) Check opening times as things open later in Singapore and Tiong Bahru Bakery Orchard.

convenient, quiet.
strange aroma in the lobby, and corridors, lifts not clean
bad use of space in room - bedside table only on one side of bed -

Location, amenities, restuaurants,
We booked a double bed but were given a room with two single beds - not pleasing. The lights were difficult to work out as there was a master switch that switched them all off, but they could not be individually turned on. In other words, they were either all on or all off. Very strange. The room servicing was not complete - we only had one towel replaced each servicing, tea bags were not replenished, and tissues were not replenished for a could of days.
