We had a great stay. The house was spacious enough to accommodate our group of 12 very comfortably. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Several people enjoyed the hot tub but would have appreciated some solar lights to light up the path to get to it. We loved the secluded and quiet setting and still were close enough to enjoy the town of Galena.

Our group of 14 (adults and kids) really enjoyed the property. It is a large amount of space and feels very secluded. We saw lots of wildlife from the house and appreciated how remote it feels though it is an easy drive into downtown Galena. We had fun exploring the hiking trails and also had fun escaping the heat at the Owner's club pool. We will back to Galena in the future and we would recommend this property for any large group.

I am not disappointed we stayed here, the layout of the house and guest house were great. Secluded, no next door neighbors. Lots of room to be together and also many spaces to get away by yourself. Appreciated the large dining table so all 12 of us could eat together. Kitchen had what we needed to make a large meal every night. Washer and dryer were fine. 6 passes included to galena territory owners club, would have been nice to have more. BUT - The squirrel living in the wall of the master bedroom woke us up every morning about 6:00 am, The 2 patio doors off of the dining room were very difficult to open and close. The dishwasher was pretty useless, we ended up washing dishes by hand. Water was hard, there was a softener in the utility room, but certainly was not operational. Other minor things here and there that you live with in your own house, but expect more when you rent from someone else. Owner did not reply to vrbo message or text to his phone, but did answer when I called.

We enjoyed our stay here with 9 adults and 2 children. Plenty of room and places to spread out. We did experience a few minor inconveniences with the electrical switches in the house (lights working and then not working with no rhyme or reason,) but overall really enjoyed the house and its amenities. The listing should be updated with the correct processes for check in and check out as those are outdated/incorrect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this property. The kitchen was fully stocked which we loved since we did a lot of cooking and grilling out. Everyone had plenty of room and space.

Wonderful! Cabins where wonderful. Teenagers played pool and Air Hockey, while the adults lounged in the Hot Tub. The hills rang with the laughter we created.

We have been going to Galena as a family for the last five years and the location of this property was by far the most picturesque and secluded. Unfortunately, when we arrived the hot tub cover was off and the hot tub was not in working condition. I called the host and he told me somebody must have left the cover off, which I knew This was one of our key search criteria for a house, so we were very disappointed. House was relatively clean, but lots of dead flies. The house itself was perfect for accommodating our 13 guests and the coach house was nice if you have teenagers or part of your group that needs quiet. Our kids found a turd in the community pool on the only day we had scheduled to visit. The pool had to be shut down for 45 minutes while it was deturded. With 5 passes to the owners club we had had to pay $40, which we lost due to the poo in the pool situation.

The house and coach house were a great place for our three families to get together and celebrate New Years. The main house has a large bedroom on the main floor and three bedrooms on the bottom floor, all with queen sized beds and fold out couches. This made it easy to be flexible with the kids' sleep arrangements. The coach house is separate from the main house and has a large living room with fold out couches and game room and two queen bedrooms. It's nice that all the bedrooms are comparable. There was plenty of space for our three families of 4, 4, and 5 people, though if you have younger kids they can't really stay in the coach house by themselves. The house has good amenities, the view is peaceful and the hot tub made it really special. As you can see from the photos, the decor is dated (1990s) but the furniture is solid and the house is clean. Nice short stay for a group of three families.

Plenty of space for us all to gather and play games, do crafts and enjoy each others company.

We had a great stay here with 12 friends. Plenty of room for all. We had no heat in the Coach House but owner arrived with space heaters that kept us warm until the furnace was fixed the following day. Kitchen was well-stocked and seating for everyone at one large table. Very private and a little bit of a drive from Galena. Need to revise check-in procedure so that calls are not necessary.

Our family of 10 adults and three children, ranging in age from 1 to 83 enjoyed our long weekend in this welcoming, comfortable home. The view was lovely, the kitchen was well stocked, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, and the owner was easily reached and quick to resolve our minor issues (an accidentally locked bedroom door and a furnace that needed a little help getting started.) We hope to be back!

The house is awesome. The area is gorgeous. If you have a large group and you like a cabin feel, this is perfect.

Secluded Property was perfect for our family weekend. The location was picturesque with trees seen from multiple windows. The fire pit had plenty of seating and the hot tub was a nice added feature. We wish we had more towels provided especially with the hot tub. Hated to use use limited towels as did not have any dedicated lesser quality towels for hot tub use. There was plenty of propane for the grill but the the knobs did not seem to work to control the flame. A blow dryer was listed as an amenity but there were none. Did not appreciate having to worry about trash removal. Rather than finding the dump to drop off garbage many of us took trash home with us. The instructions left concerning trash removal were vague, many of our phones had spotty cell reception, and we found trash tickets in the kitchen island drawers but did not know if we were to use them. Overall a wonderful weekend for all.

Second time staying at this location very nice home and property.plenty of room for everyone hanging out or if someone wants quiet private time. Had wild turkeys come strutting through the yard like they was coming for dinner really relaxing home . I'm positive we will be visiting again

Property is great for when you need a lot of beds and somewhere to hangout, but some of the amenities need some upkeep. The grill is rusted over so bring AL foil if you want to use it. They don't proved ANY trash bags outside of what is already in the trash cans. Trash has to be driven 8min away to the dump. The Hot Tub works, but some of the jets don't seem to. These were just minor things, but I felt the need to call attention to them.

We had a wonderful stay. Very roomy for a large family or friend group. It is a great get away, your neighbors are just far enough away that you feel like you are out in the country. But still close enough to down town Galena. Property owner is very accommodating. You have all the utensils you would need for cooking. Nice screened in porch. Very pleased with our stay.

We have stayed at this house a few times over the years. We love the private, quiet location, the hot tub, etc. The extra space above the garage is great for the older kids to have their own place to hang out and be entertained. The house is spacious and well appointed. While several guests can stay at the property, amenities are limited to six people so we were unable to use the pool and facilities all at the same time. There are two bedrooms where the blinds cannot be closed but there are extra blankets we could use to block out the sun. I would love to see an overhaul of the interior--there LOTS of older knicknacks and an upgrade of furnishings and decor would make the house spectacular. None of these issues are show stoppers but it may be time to spruce up a bit.

very nice and relaxing

The houses were 100% accurate to the online listing. Was able to communicate via phone calls which is my preferred method which is nice. The only complaint from my group was that the grass was not mowed when we arrived, but a landscaper did come during our stay. So the timing was a bit off, but overall did not hinder the stay in any major way. Everything else was great!

We will be back!

Beautiful secluded location. Our family really enjoyed our stay. Best kitchen I’ve ever come across in a rental home and we have stayed at many. Just needs crockpot and more jacuzzi towels. Would rent again

We enjoyed our stay very much! The kitchen was very well stocked with various pans and baking dishes. The space is large but cozy. There was plenty of space for our group of 14. The large table was perfect for playing cards. Several of us enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evening. Perfect and peaceful. ( The only improvements we could think of would be maybe a few more sheets/ blankets/ pillows for hideabeds and more towels.) All in all the perfect family getaway! Would definitely recommend to friends!

This place was so wonderful for our group of 15. The home was grand, yet cozy. Super spacious kitchen, living room, 4 bathrooms with a lot of extra pull out couches and comfy blanket and pillows. The entertainment/tv room was awesome an cozy, lots of room for all, great couches. The outdoor spaces were great, decks, screened in elevated porch, fire pit, and the jacuzzi was big and clean! The coach house was a huge bonus! 2 more spacious bedrooms, couches with a tv, foosball, air hockey, and a pool table. So fun for all!!

The studnets loved the space, hot tub, pool table and other table games. Adults loved the fact that the guest house noise couldn't be heard by us in the main house. It also worked out well that the 4 boys could be in the rooms above the garage and the 6 girls down stairs. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped except for SHARP knives. We tried every one and all were very dull. There was not a food processor or stick blender and the egg beater has a broken handle. We were gone saturday and sunday all day to events in Elizabeth, talking with the Mayor, visiting a farm, Apple River Museum and fort and doing a service project at teh fort garden. Sunday we went to church and then the fire dept and emergency dept. WE were learning about government, diversity and volunteering on this weekend. It would have been nice to have more hot tub towels, there were only 6. but there is a dryer. The owner does not respond to messages by email, but does answer calls. The kitchen faucet is has to be turned off just right so as not to drip. One bank of under cabinet lights does not work. The microwave turn table is not working, does not turn and then only heats one place. The stools by the island are not comfortable, too tall, leggs won't fit under counter, no place to put your feet and fall over easily when pushed back. Main table holds 10 and there is seating on porch. Our overall rating is still wonderful, as we had a great time. It is secluded, we heard coyotes howling both nights and also cows. never saw any people.

That was rather inconvenient.Check-in and -out were easy. They ask that you take all your garbage to the drop station, which requires one of the club keys, so we did that the day before we left. Then we took what garbage we generated the last day with us when we left so we wouldn't have to bring the club key back to the house.We would stay here again.

Very nice property, well maintained. Having the guest house worked out well with the babies giving the adults somewhere to hang out after bed time! Close to downtown made for a nice vacation. Would recommend!

We had a group of ten friends, just looking for a relaxing getaway! The house is beautiful and clean! The only thing we noticed were a few beer cans by the pond from previous renters. The property manager was always helpful with answers to my questions prior to our stay! We went kayaking downtown Galena and even did some zip lining! It was overall an excellent, relaxing stay!

We were very disappointed by the outside lawn care. We would have liked to have a campfire with smores, however, the grass and firepit area was too weedy. The main house was okay, however, the second house had ants.
