The wifi was not good in our room (Jssie's cottage). There was no one to open the gate for us, which was not good at night.

Old world grandeur in a forest!

Peace and quiet in a forest garden. An antidote to modern stresses and glitzy chain hotels.

Breakfast was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful at all times.

There were so many spiders, those that might be scared of spiders might decide not to visit again, but it definitely did not scare my away. Maybe have some peppermint or lavender in the room, it chases away spiders and insects.

The location of the property and setup was excellent. It is safe, with parking available. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Bathrooms are equally spacious. Furniture are old fashioned to reflect the history of the property. There are interesting spots to visit, like the tiny theatre and handprints in cement of various SA celebs! The garden seems magical with beautiful trees and greenery. The restaurant provided both breakfast and dinner (the latter by appointment) and the food was excellent every time! We had a wonderful stay!

The facilities are excellent and beautiful grounds. And Louise is a good soul who made me feel like I was an old friend coming for a visit. The breakfast was perfect!
