Location snd staff were wonderful
Pokey rooms, steps up to shower we’re dangerous. Bed comfortable but small ,maybe we would go again,

Location
WINDOWLESS ROOMS. They are misleading guests by no listing this BIG factor when you are choosing a hotel/room. Paying USD 100 per night for a no window room?? It is outrageous!
3.5 / 5.0
Location great and comfortable beds and linen supplied!
One of the rooms the cleaners must have forgotten the previous dirty towels from behind the doors. No windows in the rooms. Unfortunate that we couldn’t have rooms next to each other or even on the same floor.

The Hotel is very difficult to find and my taxi driver had to get out and ask people where it was. There's no sign on street level saying that the Wellington Hotel is located there. Only '57 Manners Street'.
The location was very good and central to everything I needed. The stafff were very helpful and friendly.
There were no hooks or options to hang any clothes up.
The plastic blind was very bent and broken.
The hot water took approximately 10mins before it came through which is an awful waste of water.

After hours access was easy
Took a bond on top of the charge already paid for through booking.com and never received bond back. Didn't create any mess in the room. Was only there to sleep and shower. Disappointing

Very central, friendly staff were happy to hold my luggage until I could check in and after check out as my flight arrived early and flew out late.
Really well priced, full kitchenette, clean tidy bathroom, clean bedding, pleasantly quiet.
Great for solo travellers!
Couple of stains on the wall that needed to be wiped but no big deal as everything else was spot on.

Great value for money, very clean and comfortable, good security.
Balcony wasn’t looked after

Not much. Upon entry we were greeted by drug addicts, drunk couple fighting and were feeling scared and feels uncomfortable.
Difficult to find the place.
The rate of the hotel is not worth it. No sky and no hotel services to provide soap to replace the body wash dispenser. We end up no shower properly. Security services are good.

I locked my luggage inside and they where kind enough to hold it for me
They where originally hard to get a hold of

Location was great. There were plenty of beds. The rooms were very clean.
No windows. No soap in bathroom. Don't think the $100 bond is necessary.

The only good thing about this "hotel" is its location. It's very central to the Manners/Cuba/Courtney area and close to everything that was important to me. However, it's excellent location is not in any way worth the very significant downsides - it's dirty, dishonest, was infested with bedbugs, failed to refund money they agreed to refund and the rooms have no windows. I will never stay here again under any circumstances and highly recommend anyone else also stays away.
I had previously stayed at another place called "The Setup on Manners" some time ago. It was dirty, noisy, the fire alarms went off constantly resulting in multiple evacuations within a few days and there were no windows in the room - a dark, dirty, noisy room where you were woken up for evacuations in the early hours of the morning. I intended to never stay there again.
This trip, I found a listing on booking.com for the "Wellington Hotel". When I showed up to check in, I realised it was the same building, the same reception and the same staff serving both "The Setup on Manners" and the "Wellington Hotel". It's the same place, but with the different names used on different floors of the building. I assume this is to avoid the numerous well-earned negative reviews "The Setup on Manners" had. As I had booked and paid for an entire week and it was non-refundable, I checked in and tried to make the best of it.
Late my first night there, I noticed something scurry across the pillow. Having heard nightmare stories about people's experiences with bedbugs before, I started searching inside the pillowslip, the mattress, the carpet and found three other similar tiny insects. Finally I found a larger dead one on the carpet in the corner of the room, which was unmistakably a bedbug. I searched online and found the several others were juvenile bedbugs. I then had to spend the next hour thoroughly searching all of my clothes, bags, anything that had touched the bed or floor (so everything) to ensure I wasn't taking anything with me and then fled in the middle of the night to check-in to one of the only (and extremely expensive) hotels with 24 hour reception.
On being informed of the bedbugs, they agreed to refund me. A couple of days later I had to re-request a refund because they were almost $130 short. They refunded an additional $100 and promised to send me the rest after the weekend, but never did.

Kitchenette had everything we needed, comfy bed, great location near station, harbour and Te papa museum.
Would have been useful to have clothes hanging space, and another chair and bedside table (we had a double room). Some noise at night from multistory car park.

Low cost. Comfortable bed.
Depressing room with window opening into closed off alleyway. No day light. Air freshener use excessive. Very run down. Dodgy area at night particularly. Wouldnt have felt safe venturing out.

Good location, though place needs some new fittings - lots of worn cupboards etc
Noisy locked cupboard in my son's room. Ventilation could be better.

Die Lage ist Top. Das Zimmer hat alles was man braucht.
Das Zimmer ist sehr einfach und hat keinen charme. Dis Klimaanlage ist eine laute Mobile Klimaanlage die im Zimmer steht.

Location, staff, room in general
There was no hot water at in the shower over 2 days, morning or night. In fact water was not even warm.
4.0 / 5.0
Comfy bed and portable aircon was nice as I had a room with no windows - big room. Nice tv. Lots of hot drink sachets.
Everything was fine - maybe could have been a bit better with more bathroom items (shampoos, soaps etc) but it was ok as had my own.

The location, was the only good thing about this 'hotel'
This hotel also accommodates emergency housing and I would not recommend staying here, especially if you a solo single traveler. The hotel itself is on a separate floor to emergency housing however there is only one access lift/stairwell and to get to the entrance you need to go down an alleyway that has only one entrance and exit.
The room itself was not clean, the ceilings has stains and it has been converted from an office and still uses the same harsh lighting you would find in that space. The corridor or shared areas advertised was also not clean or in any way comfortable.
This is not a hotel standard accommodation and is basically a hostel. Even the check in you are forced to pay a $100 bond, even though the instructions state if you are using an authorized credit card you do not have to. I would not stay here again and would advise anyone else to look elsewhere, especially for the price they are charging per night for these rooms.

Entrance feels dodgy, reception smelled of dog, lift smelled of insect killer, huge black fly in the room.
The first room they gave me the lights were not working, had to wait to get another room .
Carpets in the Corridor are filthy!

-Good location
-Spacious room
-well equipped kitchenette
-There was no bedding… I got into the room and there was a base sheet and a decorative throw and pillow, but no actual duvet or top sheet. I had to call a few times before someone picked up and brought me a duvet, but no sheets to put it in.
-Not very clean.. on the surface it was clean but all of the kitchen equipment was dirty from previous guest, and it hadn’t been checked or cleaned by cleaners
-Bed was so uncomfortable, could feel the wooden slats underneath
-There were some dodgy characters around, and when I looked up the place, it turns out to be an emergency housing building and there are lots of reports of drug dealing and conflicts there, not something they tell you! I felt so unsafe after hearing that.
-There was someone in the room above running around or hitting something all night, both nights of my stay, which was so loud and prevented me sleeping.

I’d booked a queen room. The room I was given was a room with a bunk beds, and no linen. I couldn’t and didn’t stay.
No linen, there was some huge venting in the room. It didn’t feel safe. There was a shared balcony that ran right above the street, easily accessible.
