Our stay was amazing. So organized, instructions were great. House was clean and the kids had so much fun with the games inside the house and outside. Beautiful location.

This was the cleanest home! The Burgers were able to accommodate us a day earlier than our reservation. We absolutely loved the home. It had everything you would need. Hopefully we can come back.

My husband and I traveled alone on this trip and this home had everything we needed (and more) for our 9 night stay. When booking I was looking for something in a central location with a nice view that had a full kitchen and a table large enough for us to do a puzzle in our evening down times. This place was great. Most of our meals were prepared at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening dinners on the balcony or downstairs patio. It was so peaceful watching the birds, deer and wild turkeys. We were blessed to witness a mama deer give birth to 2 babies right at the base of the tree line on the property. We didn't use the game room downstairs but I can see how it would be fantastic for a family with kids or teens. We were on the go most days seeing the Black Hills, Deadwood, the Badlands and Devils Tower. The house was great to come home to at the end of each day. The only "negative" I have is the Jack & Jill bathroom that is shared between the 2 bedrooms. For us on this trip it didn't matter but we usually travel with another couple and we would not have chosen this house if they were with us. I personally wouldn't want to share a bathroom when trying to get ready in the mornings or after a long day of sight seeing. For us it was perfect. We were able to spread our "stuff" out, cook and do laundry as needed. It was a great home away from home. We really loved everything about it and would highly recommend it.

We recently stayed at this great property, and it was fantastic. The house is modern, super clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to cook our meals. The living areas were cozy, with comfy mattresses, though the pillows were a bit flat and could use replacing. There were plenty of linens, but a few more washcloths would have been nice.
There were lots of fun things to do, like playing air hockey, foosball, and darts. Outside, we enjoyed the table, chairs, hammock, gas fire pit, and swing set. The spacious garage is perfect for a large vehicle, and the big mudroom and laundry area were handy after our hikes.
The views of the Black Hills were beautiful, with lots of trees and a small pond, making it a peaceful spot. We even saw white-tailed deer from the deck! The helpful labels on light switches, in the kitchen, bathrooms, and storage spaces made everything easy to find. The wine fridge and variety of glasses were a nice touch for relaxing in the evenings.
The location is great for visiting Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, and Crazy Horse, and it's a shorter drive to the Mammoth Site and Wind Cave National Park. We mostly cooked at the house, getting groceries from Lynn’s Dakotamart, but we also recommend The Purple Pie Place and Baker’s Bakery & Cafe for eating out.
Overall, this property was better than we expected and made a perfect base for our Black Hills adventures!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property is located close to the town of Custer, Sylvan Lake and many other hiking trails and sights for visitors to see. From relaxing on the deck, playing games in the backyard and in the game room in the basement, to the impressive organization and supplies available in the kitchen/bathroom/mudroom...the owners thought of practically everything to make our stay memorable. It is very peaceful place to stay and one we plan to book again someday.

We have stayed at many VRBOs and this was the cleanliest, the best stocked with essentials (hand soap, paper towels, ziplock bags, etc.) that we have EVER been to. The kitchen was fully stocked like someone lives there at all times. Stocked with spices, small appliances for your convenience too (our favorite was the waffle maker). They even have filtered water from a drinking water faucet (which is RARE), everything was labeled and organized. Not to mention the amazing chef's kitchen with high end appliances.
We loved our stay and is the PERFECT location if you're looking to do any of the attractions around Custer. Thanks Stan and Shirley

This property had everything that is listed and more! Anything we could possibly want or need was provided and the house was tucked in a quiet neighborhood. It made coming home from the days’ activities relaxing for us parents and the foosball and air hockey tables were used every day by our 2 boys.
Most nights we just picked up food and ate it on the deck because it was so beautiful and our family had so much fun playing the yard games.
It was a great place to stay to check out all the sights of the Black Hills!

Wonderful house and property. Very close to downtown Custer, but out in the country. The description of the property is very accurate and was a great base camp for our visit to the area. Easy access to all the attractions. The garage was great for not only our car, but also our bikes and gear. Lots of room. The mud room off of the garage was also wonderful for storage and laundry. The kitchen is well stocked and perfect for prepping meals. (I don't think the pics do it justice.) Our favorite thing was the deck. Great place to kick back with a glass of wine and watch the wildlife pass. One note for larger groups. The full bathroom is a jack and jill between the two (almost identical) bedrooms. It worked great for my wife and I, but could be a trick for larger groups. I used the half bath for my morning and evening prep, so it was totally fine. If you don't mind sharing the bathroom, the house is perfect. Thanks Stan and Shirley for sharing your place with us. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, quiet, short drive to town. Only bummed not all the property was available just because we wanted to see what the rest looked like.

This house quickly feels like home and is beautifully decorated. The kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation and more. The home is clean and includes many amenities. We enjoyed watching the deer and the turkeys roam across the yard. The location is perfect for enjoying the sites of the Black Hills. The patios are nicely furnished and give a great view of the wooded space around the home. We couldn’t use the patio however as often as we would have liked due to rain showers that moved through each day. The dining table is large and perfect for a family meal and a place to play games. There is no traffic noise, just the birds and the wind in the trees. A truly special place for great memories! Stan and Shirley are awesome hosts and provide very clear instructions on the use of the home.

This home is amazing. Aside from being absolutely beautiful and spotless, the owners thought of every little extra you could want or need. The house was so easy to find and centrally located between attractions. Our grandkids played in the yard and build a fort back in the timber with sticks we gathered. So much better than having a 2 and 5 year old contained in a hotel room. The rug in front of the fireplace was where the Lego action happened. Weather was beautiful except for rain late one afternoon/ evening. Plan on going to Sylvan Lake. Beautiful lake and the trail/hike around it was so much fun. Even found a small waterfall. Appreciated having everything labeled so you knew where to put things back. Enjoyed our family 2022 trip courtesy of the Burgers

House was very clean, well appointed, well furnished, and overall a great place to stay. Use of the gargae to park our motorcycles was great. We spent lots of time on the upper deck watching the deer and wild turkeys come and go as well as star gazing. Ceiling fans in the two bedrooms would be a good addition as the rooms got stuffy at night.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay. This house, the property and location were perfect for our family of four. The kids loved the game room and the outside play area. The kitchen was well-stocked, the living and dining room comfortable and the deck provided a nice hangout. The proximity to the City of Custer and Custer State Park was perfect. The overall location provided a nice basecamp for Black Hills activities. The kids are already asking to go back next summer! Thanks again for sharing your home.

The best VRBO I've ever stayed at!
The house is just gorgeous, and stocked with every kitchen item or forgotten toiletry you could need. The location for a Black Hills vacation is perfect, within easy distance of everything. Check-in was so easy. My family had a great time, and I'd snatch up this place again if we ever come back!

Perfect location with all the amenities!!
We stayed in June-2022 for a family vacation with friends. We had four adults and two children both age 8. We highly recommend this place!
Location is just outside of Custer/town so you have fabulous landscape, amazing views, and wildlife right out the deck. If anything, the pictures don’t do it justice. Very good proximity to Rushmore, Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse, etc. (highly recommend ATV rentals from Adventure Rentals in Custer!)
We’ve stayed in a lot of Vrbo’s and one thing this place had that others don’t was……all the little details. Fully stocked kitchen so easy to cook nice meals, coffee maker and coffee provided, good cookware and utensils, toiletries in case you forgot something, etc. Everything is very organized, labeled, and easy to find.
The swing set out back provided entertainment for the kids while the adults enjoyed drinks and relaxing in the deck after long days of adventuring. Fully stocked game room on lower level didn’t get as much use as we thought, as the kids preferred to be outdoors - no complaints on that!
We will definitely stay here again when we come back out - still a lot left to see.
