Honey Bee house was a great place to stay! The house was clean and comfortable and conveniently located. We walked downtown every day and shopped for groceries at the supermarket at right behind the neighborhood. Jen was wonderful about checking in before and during our stay. I would definitely stay at Honey Bee House again!

This was truly a great place to stay for our family vacation. Plenty of room for 6 adults to hang out and chill. Super close to a grocery store and in literal walking distance to the wonderful shops and restaurants Bar Harbor has to offer.
East check in and check out and Jennifer was super responsive. Always checking in to make sure we had what we needed.
Will definitely look for this spot on our next trip to Bar Harbor. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Loved that we could stay parked at the house and walk to the Bar Harbor restaurants and shops. Very short drive to Acadia National Park. The beds were very comfortable; fluffy towels; well-stacked kitchen (not that we cooked much). One note we left to the hosts was it may be helpful to include a small ice chest for guests to use to bring lunches into the park if interested.

Honeybee is the perfect location for exploring Bar Harbor and everything it offers. The 2 parking spaces are highly valuable! It’s in a quiet neighborhood, so maybe don’t invite the loud friend or family member, at least not if you like to hang outside in the evening.
All in all we had a great stay! The only reason it didn’t earn 5 stars for me was due to the quality of beds, but I have really high standards.

Could be improved for the price
The location was nice. Close to grocery and walk to town. Neighbors across the street were very nice The couches may have been replaced since last year and hope they were as they need to be. Sank into a hole / sat very low and weren’t comfortable. Had to go to Walmart to buy a fry pan as the pans there are old and dented up, rusty and looked gross and didn’t want to use them. The clam steamer pot only had one handle. Washer and dryer were down a narrow flight of old steps in the basement. Not HE but worked. I asked so I could bring correct detergent, if they were HE and Jen “couldn’t remember” if they were or weren’t. Just disappointing overall for what it cost to rent. Was not cleaned up outside - weeds galore. Sun porch faced the sun all day so was extremely hot and couldn’t enjoy being out there during the day. The top bunk bed was not made up, which was one if the reasons we stayed there, so my daughter and grandaughter could share the room but have separate large beds. Jen said I should have contacted her, but why wouldn’t it just have been made up? Again, just didn’t live up to the expectations of what was advertised versus what was there.

Bar Harbor- Acadia National Park
We are a family of 6 adults coming in to visit, hike, and experience Bar Harbor for the first time. The house accommodated us quite well. The location was great as we could walk to everything downtown.

The Honeybee House is in a quiet neighborhood tucked behind all of the downtown and waterfront activity. Easily walk to The Reading Room for dinner (fabulous!), do some shopping or spend time in Acadia National Park. House was very clean with comfortable beds and ample space.

Great property in a great location
The property was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with tools. We stayed in the king room and the bed was very comfortable.
We used the house as a jumping-off point for Acadia so we made breakfast (nearly) every morning, and lunch to pack for hikes in the park. It’s a short walk to Bar Harbor restaurants and the main grocery store, Hannaford, is less than a 5 minute walk.
The neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Amazing Location
This is an awesome historic house. One block off one of the main roads in Bar Harbour so very easy walk to restaurants, shops, grocery store and the bike shop. There is a parking spot next the house. Very clean and well appointed. Loved having a washer and dryer in the basement. We were a group of 2 couples and 1 single and had plenty of space to gather and hang out. Just be aware that one of the 2 bathrooms is on the first floor while all the bedrooms are on the second floor. Wasn't a problem for us, just had to coordinate a little bit with the group. Great value for the location!!

Fabulous House in the Heart of Bar Harbor
One of the nicest VRBOs we've ever stayed in. The home is well loved and cared for, and has everything you need for a more than comfortable stay in Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. You can walk everywhere in Bar Harbor from this home, and the Hanaford's grocery store is literally a stones throw away. We biked to many of the locations we went to within Acadia, and when we did drive it was a short distance from the house. We plan on returning soon!

Perfect home for families exploring all Bar Harbor has to offer
Perfect location for walking into town, going out at low tide on the bar, grabbing food from Hannafords grocery, and renting bicycles to explore Acadia. The house had everything our family of 6 needed including a stocked kitchen. The kids loved the full over full bunk beds! We’d definitely stay here again.

Cozy home away from home near Acadia
Our stay with four adults and two kids at the Honeybee House was lovely. It was great to have parking and to be able to walk to the grocery store and town for shopping and eating and ice cream! Having linens and towels (plenty of them!) provided was wonderful, as were all the other little extras- flour and sugar, night lights, etc. The only thing I missed was a water view!

Rent it!
The location can’t be beat, and the house is very nice. The owners thought of pretty much everything we would need including information about the area and things to do, places to eat, etc. It was a wonderful place to stay.

Couldn't have been any better
What a great time staying here. The location was perfect, just a few blocks to everything in Bar Harbor and only a few minutes drive to all the hiking. We have used VRBO lots of times and this was the best house yet! The house is fairly old, however, the bathrooms have been redone very nicely, the kitchen is in great shape, the beds were very comfortable, the towels and sheets were very good quality and the furniture was great. We stayed for 7 nights with our 2 kids and it worked perfectly.
I'm a light sleeper and I like it cold and both were solved with the location of the house and how cold the window unit air conditioners worked. There is one in each bedroom and it was very cold. We had a few hot days while we were there but the house was always very comfortable.
I was a little nervous about a grocery store being a block away (thought the noise and traffic would be bad) but it was awesome. It was great walking to the store to grab something quick on a few occasions.
All the restaurants the harbor and the stores are just a few minutes walk from the house.
When we come back to Bar Harbor we will definitely stay at the Honeybee again!

Excellent home base for Acadia adventures!
Two families shared this home for a summer adventure- this is probably the best vacation rental house I've ever stayed in. The owners have thoughtfully provided every item you could possibly need, which is helpful when you fly into town and can't bring the basics like shampoo, laundry detergent, spices, Ziplock bags, extra toilet paper, etc! It really felt that our comfort was important, and that means so much.
There were also 2 large bathrooms available, which is important for a large group of people. They also included small air conditioners in each bedroom, so you could adjust the temperature to your comfort level for sleeping (we are from the south, and couldn't imagine staying somewhere without an A/C- and the temps were unusually warm during our stay, so we were thankful!). There is a washer and dryer available in the basement (which is the cleanest and best organized basement I've ever seen!).
Now about the location... absolutely wonderful! There is a grocery store less than a block away, which meant we didn't have to plan too far ahead on meals. One of us could quickly run out for breakfast ingredients and be back within 10 minutes :) We could easily walk everywhere through the town- we only moved our cars when we drove to Acadia- and there were 2 parking spots available, so no searching on the streets of Bar Harbor.
All said, the Honeybee House was wonderful and I highly recommend it!
