We have been in the house as a familiy with 4 persons and for 4 nights. For us as 4 people was the house very tightly especially the livingroom where you sitting to eat your breakfast or lunch.

We spent a few days in beautiful Rye and really enjoyed our time in the cottage. The location is great and the decor is cozy. We enjoyed the small garden to have a coffee there in the morning or to sit outside in the evening.

Great little cottage in a suburb location.
4.8
Good location in the center of Rye.
Parking is a little problem all over the place (not a problem of the cottage)
4.8
Cosy, comfortable, clean and a great location. Outside sunny courtyard was an added bonus.

A fascinating old house in a great location, great to stay somewhere interesting but it is small and with low ceilings. Stairs require reasonable mobility, parking outside is short term, there is easy and cheap parking around the corner on Rope St.

Our family of 4 plus woofer dog had a great time and Chesterfield cottage was great to base ourselves from. The courtyard was a little suntrap in the afternoons for the very rare times we actually stayed in the cottage during the day. Comfy and everything we needed - thank you again Richard for having us!

Very sweet cottage. Well equipped and cosy.

Wonderful rest. Soaking up history

A brilliant place to stay in the centre of Rye so everywhere is walkable. Very very old so you can’t expect perfection. Top tip is to use the Rope Walk car park at £2.50 for 24 hours, pay for you full stay upfront but don’t go for a drive out at the weekend and expect to be able to find a space when you come back unless it’s in the evening. We would definitely stay there again!

A nice clean property and very well situated for Rye itself
The owner communicated well with us and this made for a pleasant stay

The listing for this charming cottage describes it perfectly; this is a delightful place in the heart of Rye and perfect for exploring this lovely town. One of the best restaurants in the town and the outright best pub in town (in our humble opinion), are just a few doors down the street.
This cosy cottage was perfect for my wife and I; and easily accommodated my sister too when she joined us for a few days of our stay. The small kitchen is very well equipped and there's a pleasant and peaceful walled garden out back.
The host was friendly and helpful, sending us maps and information about the city and preparing the lovely attic room (great views) for my sister's visit.
There is 2-hour parking right outside the cottage, convenient for loading and unloading people and things, and very cheap 24-hour parking just around the corner

The cottage is so special. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay. A word of warning, however. The stairs are not for the faint hearted!
4.8
The cottage is so quirky and so close to all The has to offer
4.8
Wonderful location and the cottage had everything we needed. Log burner was lovely and cosy
4.8
The cottage is perfectly situated to explore Rye and the surrounding areas. Although there is no private parking there is time restricted parking directly outside and there are a few car parks within easy walking distance which always had spaces.
So quaint and full of character, cosy, has everything you could possibly need and the bed was very comfortable - the perfect bolt hole for us to relax in.
The stairs are steep and narrow and may be a challenge for less abled people.
Richard was the perfect host, responsive and very helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay in Rye at Chesterfield Cottage. It was convenient for walking about Rye for shopping and eating. The three of us were comfortable and cozy.

Small but gave us everything we needed

This little cottage is in the perfect position for exploring Rye, right in the centre of the town. The host was very helpful and dealt promptly with a couple of issues that we experienced. The downstairs is quite dinky, but we managed with four of us in it, although I think that we all agreed that the downstairs could do with a little tlc. The upstairs rooms were bright and cheery. We enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for a lovely stay in this lovely little cottage. The location is fab, and we enjoyed sitting in the courtyard garden for peace and quiet. Cottage is as described on listing. Thank you

Perfect location. Lots of good pubs and restaurants. Quirky little cottage.

My husband is nearly 80, the stairs were awful for him.

Lovely cottage in the centre of town. Can highly recommend the Lemongrass restaurant just 23 steps away for a Thai meal. Also recommend bringing a 4 gang plug set as being an old property sockets are scarce. Also not ideal for people that are tall or have mobility issues-very low ceilings and a very tight spiral staircase. We had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed in Chesterfield Cottage on a few occasions and have always found to be a great place to stay. Located right in centre of town close to all sights, pubs and restaurants.
Will definitely return again.

Location is everything, and this property is in the charming heritage protected village of Rye with easy access to buses and the local train station for travel to the South Downs and other centres. As well, there is local shopping for all your needs so one can easily get around without a car.

We had a great stay here. Location is amazing and lovely traditional cottage. Would stay again

Garden could do with a bit of TLC but over all a nice stay . Very easy to drive to other places to see. Parking over night was fine and a good price.
Nice stay and easy to find
Thank you.

We had a great time staying in this lovely cottage. It is in such a great location for exploring Rye! My kids loved the collection of DVDs. It was well equipped, and I really liked that it had decent sized plates, bowls and mugs, as that isn't always the case in holiday rentals. We would definitely stay again!

This is our second stay in this beautiful cottage and we will return next year for sure. It is very cosy and well-equipped; and being so close to town is great. There is a fully enclosed yard to the rear and the view of the back of the cottage is lovely. They’re is a car park close by. And great shops and walks to enjoy locally.

We really enjoyed our stay - Richard gave us all required info and even left us some chocolates which the kids loved. Perfect location in Rye and parking nearby was easy. Would definitely recommend.
