Not a lot
No breakfast avaliable, most things already gone an hour before end of service no cutlery Crockery had to keep asking for things

Although the property looked like it needed a bit of attention the actual room was very good for a three star establishment. The bathroom could do within an update however it was still very clean and functional breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful. Should I need to be in Cheltenham again I would certainly stay there
Can’t say I didn’t like anything about the property, again the bathrooms need to be modernized however everything was good and value for money
5.0
This hotel is under new management and the staff are clearly working hard to create a good impression. Good service and nice breakfast.
Nothing.
2.5
Beds comfortable
Smart TV with no core channels such as BBC apart from via i-player and needed to have an account.
First room (a suite) had not been made up for 3 guests, bed not made and only one set of towels. Ended up being swapped to a second suite, still had not been set up with enough towels and cups.
Curtains did not fully close, some were slipping off rails.
Mastic in shower had lot of mould in it. Bath side was warped, showing damp damage.
5.0
Clean, polite staff and easy to get to. Great breakfast also
A bit grubby on the outside, was a bit concerned but didn’t need to the place was immaculate
1.5
Room smelt odd(like an old smoking room)
No air conditioning
Rooms only cleaned every other day
Breakfast was not great (I just skipped two of the days), breakfast coffee machine broken
Staff were pleasant though
3.5
Great cost for a few nights.
Room was a great size.
Easy access and reasonably priced compared to any other hotel in the area.
The evening meal was tasty, I did not do breakfast so I can't comment.
Bar prices are average for the area.
Plenty of free parking spaces.
Looks like it has had a revamp, however if they got a reliable DIY person in to touch up the jobs then it would be better, just needs some tlc and attention to detail.
The bathroom suite did not match the photos and the Aircon was not working.
4.0
The room was bright and airy and decorated nicely. The bed was lovely and big and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
3.0
Was easy to find and just what we needed for a one night stay
Could do with a lot of TLC.
Was clean but unloved
2.5
Bed was super comfy, nice tv in room and decent size room for one person. Staff were lovely, very very attentive and sweet, they made the stay more bearable and are pretty much the only good things going for that hotel.
Breakfast was shocking, no food, no milk, no cups, one staff member running round trying to clean up get more stock refill stations, everyone was getting pissed off, this poor chap was having one hell of a morning. GET MORE STAFF & FRESH FOOD - couldn't even eat any of the items they had out as was so old/stale. Coffee and everything came in sachets including milk. Cooked breakfast was okay but you didn't get a choice of what you wanted, just cooked breakfast and they brought out a plate, no allergy questions or choice of what you wanted on your cooked breakfast. you got one tiny piece of mushroom, tomato, egg and sausage, was a childs portion. Super run down hotel, everything is old, falling apart, mouldy, stains on the sheets, you can tell they have been washed but still, throw the sheets and get new ones!! Hotel needs a major revamp. Was absolutely dead and it just looks like they have no money to keep the place open. Breakfast was worse than what you'd get at the homeless shelter, just gross.

Price was good and rooms large and confortable.
When I booked in booking.com it was stated that the hotel has a EV charging point. My plan was to sleep there while the car was charging and be ready to depart in the early morning. We we were in a group of 4 people.
On arrival at about 10pm the staff denied the existence of the EV charging point and then they accepted that there is one but it was out or order for days.
I had to travel to the nearest point in town centre so I spent 2 hours at late night to charge. I went to sleep at 1:30 am and had to travel in the early morning. I had a very bad and short sleep.

Comfy bed, Hotel gave advanced info that kitchen was out of service for the time being.
Room was a bit dusty, the room was not made up for the next night ... bed was not made and towels not replaced. I don't think house keeping serviced the room. The temporary continental breakfast was a bit too basic and little poor for choice.
3.5
The whole place looked refreshed, newly painted. Lovely entrance when you walk in. Fab size telly, plenty of hot beverage. Easy access into Cheltenham. Room was very clean. You can clearly see they are updating the property.
I had to change my room as soon as I got there, I had booked for a kingsize bed but the first room had 2 singles. They changed it straight away. The actual kingsize bed, the base was kingsize but the mattress was 2 separate mattress'es. No instructions on how to use the shower, so after 10 mins I finally worked it out. The hairdryer was broken, the on/off switch was not noticeable, it did have a pat test sticker on. No hot breakfast available. A little over-priced for 1 night.

The hotel was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I knew in advance that some of the facilities, were not available due to work, but this did not impact on my stay at all. My room was very spacious and the price for the room was really reasonable.

AIRCON IN ROOM NOT WORKING
NO HOT FOOD AVAILABLE IN HOTEL

It was close to where I was working
It was a mess. Light fittings hanging out or missing, thermostat in the shower was broken, as was the plug in the sink and the air conditioning didn’t work

Good size room, good breakfast, clean - I see some other reviews relay issues, I’ve stayed here when attending the races for the last 5 or so years, I’ve never had a problem, maybe I’m lucky ! It’s difficult to critique at hotel at circa £50 a night, to an extent you get what you pay for. If you want the Grosvenor experience, pay the price and stay at the Grosvenor. As a budget hotel it gives what I need it for.
No issues for us
1.5
Cheap price
We were the only people staying, there was a blood stain on my bed, half the lights in the bedroom didn’t work. The bedroom smelt, and the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night with nobody to be seen.
Personally would not return

Nothing …its unwelcoming, rubbish all outside, and looks nothing like the picture
The lack of care, attention the doors are not safe as massive gaps in the frames. Had to complain to actually get the room size I booked
0.5
Nothing
Wasn’t able to get in my door without asking a member of staff
Room wasn’t ready - tried to move me upstairs despite booking a disabled room and the lift wasn’t working. Rooms were not finished after the refurbishment- lights weren’t all working. Shower was scalding hot
0.5
Unfortunately nothing
Kitchen was closed
No draught drinks on tap in the bar
Only 1 towel between 2 of us in room
Bedroom window didn’t open
Air con in room didn’t work

Nothing, it was in the process of being renovated after being an asylum seekers hotel and was not completed. It should not have been opened.
It was filthy dirty, carpets and furniture were stained, light fittings had the wrong bulbs and weren’t working, PAT testing stickers were from 2019. The lift was out of order, everything was tired from over use/abuse and the shower was stuck on boiling so couldn’t be used. Window handles were held on with tape and the curtains had come off their tracks so couldn’t be shut properly. I have made a complaint, totally unacceptable.

Location
Lack of facilities, cleanliness, the room was shabby and dirty,no hot water, spring coming through the mattress,no bar or restaurant as was depicted in the photos on the website, had to ask for a remote for the TV.
Awful experience will not visit again!!!!
2.5
The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
Staff were friendly.
The air-conditioning/heating did not work, the restaurant was closed, we had no hot water on the second morning because the staff did not know how to work the heating.
Breakfast was not great quality, the hash browns were still ice cold from the freezer and my black pudding was almost raw.
1.0
On arrival after a long day we were told that they wouldn't serve any food today which was a shock as we hadb't eaten all day, and the answer to our question if there was anywhere in walking distance to eat, we were told 'no, its cold outside!!'
The room itself was filthy and the bathroom so botched together with wood pannels and screws that is was almost unusable, no central heating, every wall wall marked or dirty with cobwebs in every room corner and hair in the bed. Staff was walking around without masks in torn jeans and smoked at the end of the corridor.
We ask for our money back only to be told to take the issue up with booking.com. When we returned home and requested a refund we were denied and told we shoul have resolved the issue at the time with the hotel. We even got charged for the breakfast the next day when we not even stayed the night. Absolutely disgraceful and should not be allowed to call itself a hotel.
3.0
Good location and easy place to stay just off the motorway, large room with comfy beds.
Friendly staff and plenty of parking.
The room looked tired with a crack in the sink, skirting boards in need of repair and all areas looked in need of a good paint and spruce up.
Breakfast was ok but I asked for mushrooms and got served 3, these were clearly from a tin.
Fair selection of food at breakfast and good value for money.
1.5
friendly and helpful staff
bed was comfortable
spacious room
It was freezing! we had 1 electric heater in the corner of the room. It didn’t heat anything at all!
I didn’t sleep due to the amount of shivering.
people were sat in coats, scarves and hats while eating breakfast. All making a comment about the temperature.
the shower was completely pointless.
radiators required or electric heaters that actually do the job!
the price of the room did not reflect how uncomfortable the room would be.

One member of staff running the whole place was helpful
I have been ripped off . I called a couple of days in advance to cancel one room due to Covid and as per the booking.com policy. On arrival found I have been charged for 2 rooms.even though the helpful guy on reception said should be easily resolved by dropping an email to the hotel providing booking details. They say it's my fault , but clearly not and will not refund. Yet they communicated now one room booked but because they didn't write cancellation on the updated email I was sent that it's my problem .. There is no evening restaurant and breakfast is an £10 extra and deep fried... i was also offered an upgrade in advance from the Regency Hotel but were reticent to honour this also could not get water to run hot in shower and room was cool..think very carefully before you book
