Hotel staff were pretty good
Room very tired and dates as was the hotel generally

Breakfast and spa/gym facilities

The receptionist staff were very helpful as were the waitresses.
The hotel advertised that breakfast was include. Only a continental breakfast was include and we had to pay an extra £5 per person to have a cooked English breakfast. Very misleading and I would suggest that it breaches advertising standards.
The very small bedroom was functional. There was black mold around the sink and the bath. There was no anti slip bath mat,
The twin beds we had requested were rock hard and caused me two painful night of trying to get to sleep and I had to fold up my duvet to lay on get some comfort. Thankfully I could cover myself with the supplied blanket.

Nice hotel and settings
we looked a twin and was given a double bed- not ideal.
3.8
The atmosphere of the location
The shower nozzle was very stiff where it was very stiff and difficult to turn to access the hot water. The bidet also did not work. There was some hair on the sofa when arriving into the room. There was also no lock or bolt on the balcony door where this could be slid open from the outside and inside.

Interior design
I didnt get to use the spa facilities due to my own time constraints so I can't comment on that. However I was disappointed that the bathroom was an old style and had what appeared to look like stains of mould and limescale. the shower head was so closely fixed to the wall that you had little space to move or to reach areas of your body or the shower enclosure, which could be done with a detachable head. I paid for breakfast with the room but that was a scam. A full english (veg) isn't included and isn't worth the £10 I paid extra for it, literally got given x2 tbs of beans.
Also had a poor welcome greeting at reception when i arrived. The Hotel is decorated well but beyond that it's less than average. I've had a better breakfast and service in budget hotels.

The outside and the finning area
The room was very basic and needed updating - was lead to believe when booking the room would be a lot better by the pictures which when you arrive the overwhelming disappointment when you walk in was sad

The spa facilities were quite modern and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The rooms were a bit outdated. Unfortunately our room was also right above the hotel’s event hall so we were kept awake by loud music until 11:30pm. I felt like this was quite disruptive for our stay and wish that we were given a room away from the celebrations.

Good spa facilities, excellent food and ambience .

I was upgraded to a suite which overlooked the gardens and the spa. The room itself was exceptionally lovely and very comfortable and even had a walk-in rain shower! :)
I only booked for 1 night. I should have stayed the extra night so I could have had even more time in that room!
3.8
Convenient location, car parking , comfortable room , friendly staff, food good.
walls were very thin and we were disturbed until 3am in the morning by a noisy pair of women in an adjoining room who were exceptionally loud . Tried to contact reception to address three times but no one picked up the phone. television of other neighbouring room could be clearly heard through the wall.
I wasn’t aware that this time the spa was only included for a limit of one hour in total over our stay. The booking on booking.com just says “spa access”. The smaller print limitations aren’t shown! On a previous stay with exact same room we were able to use each day.
Breakfast is continental if included as a breakfast. extra is charged for full English (£15) Again, on booking.com
it just says breakfast included - no mention of paying extra for a full English. The rigid spa limitation would put me off booking again and to upgrade to a superior room isn’t that cost effective.

the room was very clean and had everything we needed.
charging guests extra for breakfast was ridiculous. the extra £5 even had an item missing! what was included would not have fed a small child.

The spa and treatments were very good. The room was good and comfy
The rooms were uncomfortably hot, when mentioned to receptionist she said she would get duty manager to turn heating down but it was still too hot. No way of adjusting the temperature ourselves as radiator was on zero but still producing heat. We had to have the window open at all times. We paid for breakfast when booking but when we went for breakfast you had to pay an extra £5 to have a full English which I don’t think is acceptable! The shower had a curtain which stuck to you when you had a shower, they need to have screens, much more hygienic.

Breakfast was good, we had dinner on Friday we arrived and the food was not very good
Quality of the food
3.8
Everything. From the minute we arrived. The spa is fabulous and so relaxing. The food is amazing. We had a fantastic stay. The staff in the spa, reception & restaurant are amazing. Thank you so much
The communication we got via booking.com was awful. I booked it for my boyfriends bday, I would have cancelled if it was refundable... I'm so glad we didn't . Please review what's being sent as it so cold... the tone of the emails are not good.

Friendly check in, very comfortable room, lovely breakfast

The location was good.
Hotel and service was not 4 stars.
We prebooked the spa and used this on arrival as we were too early to check into the rooms. The spa facilities were decent and clean. After the spa we went for lunch, which was average at best. We also wanted to order drinks to the table with the food order as there were 8 of us in total but told by the waitress it’d would be easier to order and collect at the bar whenever we wanted drinks which is a bit annoying during eating to have to get up mid meal and order 8 drinks. Evening food was a bit disappointing as booking.com don’t state the hotel is under refurbishment with the restaurants closed so dinner would be served where the breakfast is served. We all decided to get a taxi into Cheltenham as by 10pm as we felt we were in the way. We were the only table left and they were setting up for breakfast around us (if you choose to have breakfast, I’d advise getting down as early as possible as we went around 9am and it was chaos with queues left, right and centre for the buffet and juices etc not getting topped up).
The rooms weren’t very good, needed a good clean as cobwebs everywhere, stained dirty cups and touch up as although fairly modern, it was quite tired looking (see photos).
