But they don’t enforce their non smoking rule we were bothered by next room with a heavy smoker

Just like having our own apartment with shared good amenities.

There are no meals included but there is a kitchen and a grocery store and a Seven/Eleven walking distance from the place. The rooms are clean with clean towels and the bed is very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

It would have been nice if there was a TV in the rooms.. Maybe next time. I did washed some clothes but the dryer didn't dry them very well. After an hour they were still wet. Maybe I was doing something wrong. The instructions were in Japanese. It would have been nice to have them in English as well.

I will NOT stay in Motoyama House again. I was accused of loud noise by a person in the next room for no reason on the first day. Instead of telling me to quiet down, he bunged the door, yelled obscene words, woke up other residents, and ended up calling the police who responded but found no fault on my part. I reported the incident to the owner the next day but he sided with the person in the next room because he was a long-time resident. Because of their refund policy. and my budget, I was forced to stay there but was never comfortable.

The bed was super comfortable, and the room was very quiet. There were also some convenient amenities I usually don't find at apartments, like disposable set of toothpaste and brush or disposable razor for shaving (they're common in hotels, but not in apartments). The owner is really kind and helpful. The WiFi works perfectly, quite fast connection.

I missed a place in the room for placing the shoes. There's a kettle for boiling water and mugs and bowls, but I didn't see any spoons (for stirring tea, for example).
