Friendly staff, good overall night sleep, good refrigerator and microwave.
Loved the fridge and up to date plugs and microwave great to cook in and a good night sleep over all. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Hot and cold tap sink quite new. Clean en-suite and easy to get in to shower if your a big person staying the night here. Good lights that worked when switched on. Great the staff gave us an extra chair for the room upon request.
There seemed to be missing channels on the tv which could be frustrating ie no GB news or challenge tv for example. Could be good to have air conditioning as you have to cool yourself down with a cold drink or cool flannel. My family member guest felt Claustrophobic in the room a little.

Would not recommend
Nothing at all.
The hotel is very out dated, staff seemed doped up on drugs. Locked themselves in the office room all of the time. Bed had blood on it, cushion had crusty snot stains on it. Cigarette butts on window seal. Hotel smelt like an old people's home. Random mattress thrown in downstairs communal area, wheel chairs and toy prams shoved in corners behind chairs all thrown into a heap.

Great hotel for using as a base and somewhere to sleep and it’s right in the beach
The rooms were clean and staff very friendly. We had clean towels when asked and nothing was too much trouble. The fridge and microwave in the room were brilliant allowing us to bring picnics for the beach with us and snacks for the kids. Bottles of water and tea making facilities were also in the room and were replenished daily. We had 2 family rooms with 2 adults and 5 kids and they made sure we were next door to each other. Showers are small but we never had any issues with the hot water, we all showered twice daily and everyone had a hot shower.
The building is very dated and a lot of facilities no longer in use which is a shame as it could be a beautiful hotel.

Loved our stay shame it wasn't longer
The old fashioned hotel of my childhood was the comfy family feeling.
No food, bar, entertainment but dining room and bar were there but not in use, shame half board would have been lovely or B&B.

A hidden gem
This was £136 for 4 nights on a bank holiday weekend. Pulling up you think this is a run down hotel. Got o reception & it's dark & dated. Dark wood panelling doesn't help. Area needs investment. First instinct maybe run! but this is a hidden gem. The room was in the basement, which was a little disappointing. It was small but surprisingly spacious and well laid out. I've stayed in bigger rooms with less space if that makes sense, Bathroom was big enough for a larger person such as myself. Room had a fridge, microwave & TV. Well lit, The bed was a little too comfy. Tea & coffee making facilities As a base it was excellent, secure, staff friendly and not in your face. Located about 100m from the beach and just off a side turning so not in your face, WiFi was excellent and as I needed to work first night it was very handy. This is a gem, thou Great Yarmouth really needs to get some investment. Opening Monday to Friday may help!
Ok TV was too large for the room, needed to be about 30inch not 50. No restaurant or bar, need to look into someone to rent that area. Sure some local would snap up the chance at the right price. Put a bloody service bell on reception. With the dark panelling took me a while to find the service bell. No hot water except for 1 morning. Hardly extremely hot as you claim. Except when I had to boil the kettle. Plug sockets (have USB ports great!) but all down one end of the room. Take an extension lead

A great place to stay if you want to see all the interesting stuff in Great Yarmouth and the area
We didn't order a breakfast or any food. The room was spacious and very clean.
A bit of a problem with the lift. It's a funny old one and you need to keep both gates closed once you leave, otherwise it can't be called to another floor. Some gests forget it occasionally.
