The road was quiet and peaceful and I had a view of the Winter Gardens building from my room. The single bedroom was very light and airy and got the sun (I have been in so many dark and grim single rooms before) so I was pleasantly surprised. The owners were very helpful with advice. Everything was clean and cleaned daily. The shower was spacious and good. There was a small fridge in the room, which was invaluable as I took my own breakfast (medical reasons). The bed was very comfortable and the bedlinen was fresh and attractive. My favourite thing outside was the Model Village, which was enchanting - it was a four minute walk, if that and good value for money. The beach was lovely and a few minutes walk away. The fish and chips on the Britannia Pier (near the town) were exceptional - the best I've ever taste.d. The town was a mixture of 'seaside' shops and high street shops. (However, if you want a supermarket, the only one I found in town was an Iceland near the bus station - the main supermarkets were outside of town.) There was a Wetherspoons in the town (the Troll Cart), which had good value meals, plus fast food shops and one or two normal restaurants. Lots of restaurants along the front (quite expensive).
The curtains, although very nice, let the sun through at 4.15am (not long before the longest day), so perhaps some blackout lining? I went by train and got lost from the station but nobody's fault but my own. There seemed to be enough parking in the road, so recommend going by car if possible. The B&B was a fair old way to the town, though the shortcut through the lovely St George's Park to the town helped a lot after the landlord suggested it. Outside, Sea-Life was disappointing for the money. The supposed 1.5-2 hr tour took me less than 20 minutes, and that was going back on things. I think the fish must have eaten the sharks as I didn't see any! A massive shop with over-priced 'toys' took up precious space which could have been used with more varieties of fish (and sharks and rays!).

Breakfast served was brilliant, hotel was not far from the sea front and was available in the street.
Our room was on the top floor so lot of stairs to climb.

Breakfast was lovely and the rooms were clean and a good size. What sells the place though are the hosts. We loved how attentive Alistair and Sharon were. Asking about our plans, giving little tips and making us feel right at home. Thank you!
Nothing.

Friendly owner breakfast was good coffee wasn't very nice thought the area were the hotel is situated was very run down and there were many people arguing and very noisy all night long room was far too warm could of been offered a fan or should be 1 in the room as it was so noisy with the windows open and as we were over the kitchen area breakfast smells entered the room.we wouldn't stay here again as we felt for the money it was very over priced for the standard of the hotel and area sorry to say we have been coming to great yarmouth for many years and wouldn't come back to this part terrible run down hotels and surroundings which is a crying shame.
Very noisy had to have windows open due to the heat area of hotel very run down and a lot of loud music people arguing and traffic noise in a back street area which you would of thought you would get. very warm room no fan in the room, room was outdated needed alttention.

We came hear with expectations of not alot after booking an awful place last year and wow both Alistair and Sharon wowed us with their kindness and professionalism. The bedroom was exactly as advertised and had everything in it all working as described! We really felt like we were at a home from home. The brealfast are pre ordered the day before and even though i changed breakfast options later it was no issue. We have recommemded the Chequers already to other couples and family.
We have already booked again for September.
Booking direct is better!
Thanks for our great stay soon you again soon

A good place for the town and the front good place to walk around the whole of Yarmouth
Can be noisy with cars around until the early morning it is placed near all of Yarmouth amenity's so you get the noise from that .

The owners Alastair and Sharon welcomed us from the time we arrived and nothing was too much trouble.
Big bed with comfy room and en-suite shower and bathroom. Fridge in room was ideal as I needed to store my insulin.
Tried lots of options from good breakfast menu, but my favourite was the full English. Beautifully cooked and plenty of it. set us up for the day.
Even a special request was a big hit with my wife when she fancied a full English breakfast “in a bun”.
Was perfect for our visit to family.
Nothing to complain about.
Considering where hotel is located, and it was just pre Christmas it was quiet and restful.

Good location for all amenities.

The owners were really friendly and helpful. The room was a lovely size. The location was close to the sea front and yet really quiet. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was great. There was loads of choice with breakfast, and it was a decent size and always hot.
If you have mobility problems then this probably isn't the place for you as there are quite a few stairs and they are quite steep due to the age of the house.

Location was excellent. Few yards to the beach. Breakfast was a good portion size. Hosts were friendly and informative about local attractions. The room had a small balcony which caught the sun. Value for money stay.
