Well as far as cities go you can’t get better for Christmas festivities than Edinburgh! The YOTEL has a great location in Queen Street. The first time we have stayed in a YOTEL so initially the modern mimalistic decor was a surprise, but the room was very comfortable and the front desk staff very helpful. Slightly let down by the lack of detail from the cleaners, our bathroom never did get a thorough clean around the skirtings so I did it myself (I can’t stand sitting on the loo and seeing previous occupants grime). Plus, at £16 a head for breakfast we found the choice and food quality disappointing.

Simple check in with a person although the option to check in oneself is preferred I think. All the staff we encountered were friendly.
The room was good if a little different to the norm, having separte pods for the loo and the shower and was at the back of the hotel so was nice and quiet.
Our only criticism would be at breakfast, the hot food was in cold dishes and there were no warm plates hence the food was either cold or cooled very quickly, hot/warm dishes would remedy this. That being said the choice of other food at breakfast was more than adequate.
The hotel is well placed for all the attractions of Edinburgh and about 15 minutes walk from the train station.

Lovely Hotel staff very friendly very modern. Amazing power shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. No bar food available restaurant only do breakfast. Bar area nice and relaxing. No coffee making in the room you need to go to coffee and tea making machine in bar area. Water and small glasses in reception if you want a drink and vending machine.

Good breakfast, clean, but small room (the toilet and shower are in the main room, and not a separate room).
Free tea/coffee in the bar, which was really helpful.
Great location, walking distance to all of new and old town.

Works doo, hotel was great location, good size rooms with a really good shower

Breakfast was a shamble. £15 a head, no hot items, waited 30 mins plus and the buffet didn’t get re stocked.

The hotel is very clean, central. Entry and exit are very practical, service is good. There is a bar in the hotel, it is nice. The rooms are suitable for the disabled, the sick and the elderly. I just could not get used to the air conditioning and electricity system. After a while it turns itself off and the sensor is far away. Also, the room was cold for me

Helpful,friendly staff.
Lovely clean and fresh room.

A nice hotel close to the centre where clean tea, coffee and water are free of charge and you can leave your suitcase before check-in time. I recommend

The design of the room was awful. No overhead bed lights. All lights were at the bathroom side. The switch for the bathroom lights were next to the entry door, so getting up in the night or early morning meant going the wrong direction to switch them on thereby disturbing partner. The toilet door had to be open if one was sitting down otherwise when getting up you bash your head. The shower was excellent but it leaked out into the room. There were no kettle and mugs or tea or coffee provided in the room. No cupboards provided to hang clothes. The breakfast was the same each day and the cooked food was warm at best. Coffee maker was good. We would never stay there again or recommend it. Very poor value for the money paid.

Arrived early and they stored our bags so we could explore the city before our room was ready. Service was prompt and courteous even while check in was very busy. Not sure if it is a culture thing but I don’t think I saw one Scot woman smile during our 4 day stay

Very poor indeed. Had called in advance (twice) to advise late arrival. Upon arrival at midnight, first reaction was “you have no booking in system “. It was booked & prepaid via hotels.com
No service - miserable receptionists - no smiles at all.
And second morning, awoken early with a message to leave room asap by nearest exit - due to a ‘fire’! No fire - no warning - no ppl around. Was advised later it was a fire-test!! Idiots. Would not recommend!!
Oh… and requested separate duvets in Kingsize bed.. nope - nothing& ignored!

Had a lovely stay. Arrived too early for check in but was able to leave luggage. Bed comfy and reclined. 😊 would definitely stay again .

Special thanks to the super helpful friendly girl on reception who checked us in (Spanish accent? didn't catch her name) and offered to help me carry tea one morning. She was great. Thank you!

Never heard of this hotel. Basic room. Not keen on cubicle shower and toilet. Seemed space saving and small. Not enough hanging space. Few places to hsng towels. Bed comfortable and was at back of the hotel as it moght have been noisy at the front

Great cost benefit in a modern hotel.
Pros: It is a 15-minute walk from the city center. The rooms are modern and new. There is a very good ceiling showerhead. The place is very clean. Self-check-in and check-out.
Cons: The bathroom has no door - the toilet and shower are separated, but there is a curtain to separate from the room.
The room and the beds are small. Breakfast was the most disappointing part: very basic with stale bread and no juice.

We loved the atmosphere inside the hotel.
The rooms were comfortable and clean.
The hotel is a short walk away from many bars and restaurants.
My only complaint is the high price hike when they have events, such as the rugby.

Great location, lovely room, very modern, loved the reclining beds, very comfortable and reasonably priced… would stay here again if o was coming back to Edinburgh

All great.

Love the hotel its clean near the Princes st., the staff were very accommodating. The inly problem was that the room does not have an electric outlet at the bedside. Good thing the staff let us borrow their extension cord

Everything was excellent the only one thing put me off was no kettle with tea coffee to make ourselves aa brew when we woke up

Poor sleep due to brick hard pillows. Left feeling exhausted.

The room was clean and tidy . I don’t like that the towels are in the toilet cubicle.

Considering the amount paid correlated with the conditions offered in the future I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Nice clean room. The bathroom organisation is a bit awkward with see two rooms for toilet and shower, the sink in the bedroom and towels in the toilet.

Lovely modern hotel not far from Princes Street. Coloured LED lights and reclining bed made great touches to the room.complimentary tea , coffee and chilled water available in the bar area .

It was okay, but my room had dead space. The space was bit smelly like mustiness. And I heard dragging noise every morning starting from 07:30 am.

Great stay in a beautiful, clean, modern and very functional room which was also very comfortable!

Great location, clean and the staff were super helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience

The staff is extremely friendly and the entire process from checking in to checking out was flawless. The room is very modern and the beds have automatic movement which was a cool experience. Unlike many other hotels in the city, YOTEL does daily cleanings.
YOTEL is very close to everything you would want to visit in Edinburgh. We happened to stay on a very busy weekend so the rates were a bit higher at $260 a night but for the quality of service and location you won’t find anything close. 10/10 would stay here again!

Great location, value and gym wasn’t bad. Fridge wasn’t cold and windows don’t open but lovely staff and breakfast ok so would go again.
5.0
The room was up to date, had plenty of space, great water pressure, and great location. The only downside is the bathroom offers very little privacy but everything else was absolutely fantastic.
3.0
Conditions of the hotel are nice. Location is perfect which is within walking distance to main attractions.
Only that the reception staff seemed to be rather distant. I can appreciate how hard it could be to work through a long shift, but just didn't expect that members working in hospitality didn't bother to respond even customers tried to be nice to greet them warmly. Quite disappointed.
2.0
No bottled water for us to purchase for our room so we were very thirsty, our shower nozzle broke, water leaked from the shower, the temperature kept turning on multiple times after we turned the AC off because we were cold and we went downstairs to have someone fix it for us and they said they would be up in 2-4 minutes and no one ever came
3.0
The room did not have any way to hang up clothes nor did it have any type of a dresser .
4.0
Great location, easy check in but breakfast was not so great.
5.0
The room was clean and comfortable. The pillows a bit on the hard side. Lovely toiletries.
