Good evening meal, quiet clean room, good breakfast.
4.1
Great setting and a well appointed hotel. Very friendly staff and the breakfast team was particularly welcoming. The breakfast itself was excellent and whilst the evening meal was good it was also over priced.
The room was comfortable and clean and we overlooked the village square which made for a pleasant view. The shower was not the strongest but the fluffiness of the towels made up for this blip.
The decor was a little shabby in places but nothing that spoiled the trip.

When we arrived they couldn't find our booking but they were so helpful and sorted it out very quickly the staff's makes this place so welcoming and helpful from reception to bar and restaurant wow defo 10* from us only thing let it down was the cooked breakfast but cold for selection was spot on. Staff were so funny made our day as never been before and was like we were regulars. Thanks so much for sorting a lush room out..

Only a 1 night stay but found the staff very very polite and friendly. Would give the hotel 5 star but it is a bit tired but very clean and tidy.

this is probably the 5th time have stayed at The Kings Head, so it must suit me.

Welcome, room, food and bar area are all good. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful.
The whole building just needs some care and attention - looking dated.
Redecorating throughout especially in public areas is long over due and if you look closely a deep clean in the high use areas is needed.

Very nice place to stay, lovely breakfast.
Very good location for our trip, lots of nice pubs. I did find having to go downstairs to the bathroom a bit much during the night.
4.1
In the centre of Masham so easy to walk around the town and just a short walk from Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre. Great base for touring dales. Relaxed atmosphere and very dog friendly.
4.1
The room was a little damp and the bathroom wasn't as well cleaned as it should be. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The restaurant choices were hood and food was good.

A lovely little place full of character and features..
Friendly staff.
Being a bit picky, but creaking and uneven flooring on stairs / landing & in our room stopped it getting 5 stars all round…
4.1
very comfortable, helpful & friendly staff, right in the heart of Masham very convenient for all attractions

Staff are lovely and look after guests well. Unfortunately the whole place is ready for a face lift and rooms are tired. Food was ok but dishes not available and a real variance in quality/quantity. Once a refresh and refurb in place, then will be a great place to stay again in the future. Thanks to all the staff for all their efforts and cheerfulness, it was really appreciated.

When we booked on your site there was no ware to say we had a dog so when we arrived they had no dog rooms available and had to have a dark room at the back which was not what we expected

What a pretty hotel ... I loved my room! It was situated at the side of the main hotel & had a very quaint feel to it.
The room was beautifully decorated with a spacious bathroom. Absolutely spotless.
The bed was super cosy & comfy & I had the best nights sleep.
Room temperature was perfect too. Just right & not too hot as some often can be
The staff wete all vety friendly, efficient & helpful.
I'll definitely be back!
Thank you for such a lovely stay

Fantastic, friendly staff. From the check in, to dinner, to check out, nothing was too much trouble.
Room cosy and warm and Masham was lovely, what we saw of it, due to the driving rain!

Good hotel with friendly staff in a lovely location in the square in Masham

In a fantastic position overlooking the Market Square with, almost, free parking (£1 in honesty box). Handy for the Theakstone and Black Sheep breweries, plus other lovely pubs in the village. Staff were all very nice and helpful, Chris and Gaye at breakfast were magic. Great place to stay.

We booked this hotel having stayed at Greene King hotels in the past and enjoyed the food etc . We booked 8 weeks in advance and received an email 8 days before arriving there would be no food and kitchen was closed in evenings !!! To Cap it all they refused to let me pay by cash and I had to get a fellow traveller to pay my bill.
Needless to say I won't be back.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel and we find the staff very helpful and pleasant breakfast excellent and evening meal also we visited this time for my husband’s 80th birthday which was made special by gayle and Chris
4.1
Very friendly and efficient service, particularly at breakfast with 'double act' Gaye & Chris, making everyone feel welcome.
Very nice room overlooking the market place, room and bathroom thoroughly cleaned every day, coffee & biscuit supplies replenished every day.
The only minor niggle was that there was no 'slow-close' on the door at the bottom of the stairs, so quite noisy throughout the evening with guests' comings and goings.
Recommended, would stay there again if in the area, very good value for money, excellent breakfasts

Lovely comfortable hotel .Full of character. Lovely restaurant room .Lovely staff at reception and Chris and Gray on breakfast duty. look forward to staying again in a few months time.

Staff were very friendly, room was clean and tidy. Think they must have been short of staff in the kitchen as we were booked in for an 8.30 evening meal and meal arrived at 9.30. The next morning breakfast, we went down for 9am hoping to be served reasonably quickly. 9.25 we decided to have cereal and toast, 9.30 someone came to take our order but we didn't have time to wait as we were meeting friends at 10am. However the next morning we were seen quickly and enjoyed a full English breakfast. Would definitely visit the hotel again.

Great accommodation, comfy bed but let down by the evening meal food in the restaurant.. unless of course ypu like paying for a £20 cold steak?

Great place made better by the staff. If you in the area, this is a must stay.
4.1
Would like to mention the excellent breakfast and particularly the friendliness and service of Chris and Gaye in the dining room. Pity we were not able to have dinner there.
4.1
Room was clean but sparse. WiFi patchy. Breakfast service very poor - long wait to be told after 20 mins that hob was broken so no poached eggs.
4.1
Stayed here on a couple of occasions before and always been great. Service is excellent, food amazing and courtyard rooms are lovely. This time when we arrived we were given our room key however the room hadn't been turned around from the previous guests (bed unmade, bin full, towels on floor). This actually didn't bother us as we gathered we'd just been given the wrong room key. Issue easily fixed and we were given a new room straight away. Room was lovely and clean, comfy, warm. Our only slight feedback would be that when our friends arrived and were given their own room, although both couples had paid the same rate, their room was much much larger and more 'grand'. This could be a matter of opinion but our stay was lovely regardless and it wouldn't deter us from staying again.
4.1
I'd like to start by saying that the staff were great. As i'd injured my leg they changed our room, so less stairs to climb. Room 4, a large room at the front but a very uneven floor, not ideal for people with poor mobility. Bed was also to small, found our sleep compromised via trying not to roll out. Having stayed here before, didn't meet our expectations. A good choice for breakfast (Chris and Gay a delight in the morning) and good standard of evening dining.

Lovely stay in gorgeous Masham. Excellent hotel, very comfortable & clean with super food. The staff were great & couldn’t have been more helpful.
